Foam Roller On Injured Muscle????

I have a strained Sartorius leg muscle and it is surely not healed up yet; its taking a while. Orthpedic confirmed its just a bad strain with tendonitis.

I was wondering if a foam roller would help to get blood flow and enhance flexibility while not training. Whenever I do roll it out the muscle is sore/inflammed for the rest of the day, not sure if thats a good or bad thing.

Thanks

R.I.C.E my friend (rest, ice, compression, and elevation) don't exercise it continuously...if its hurting sit down with your leg elevated with either an ace band-aid or a frozen ice-pack, rest it for a couple days until you feel you can stretch it again

Thanks. What is your take on the foam roller though? I am going to use it on all muscles except this one unless its beneficial to the healing process.

Foam rollers are amazing. Use it every day before training (along with dynamic stretch) and those injuries generally won't happen in the first place.
If it's just a strain & not a sprain then yeah it will aid in recovery.

Agreed I use the foam roller on my spine all the time...fuk someone adjusting me. Be carefully with injury if it hurts a lot is lay off the roller.

Don't foam roll a fresh injury especially if it could be torn. RICE until swelling is gone then use foam roller as much as possible after. I swear by it. i have the triggerpoint one myself.
