form or function ?

I worked out yesterday, and noticed when I'm doing cable pullins, I can rep with 150, but I feel it much more on my lats and mid back when I have it at 120 and i'm doing it really slow. Reason i ask is, I know you have to increase weight and push hard( in this case, pull). What's your thoughts on this guys.. better to have really good form, even though the weight is light, or you just bang it through and have decent form, but heavier weight ..
