Free weight alternatives

Good leverage machines are to me the best pieces of equipment ever; best bicep pump ever was off a custom made leverage preacher bench that was part of one of only two NYC hardcore gyms of the early 80s. This was well before leverage was commonplace, all the leverage equipment was custom. Likewise their seated overhead triceps extension and rowing leverage machines.

Currently i'm using a Bowflex; don't laugh, it's very impressive unless you're over 400 lb. on some of the exercises. Feel is much like using pulleys - a few years ago i'd concluded that pulleys are better than free weights for almost any exercise. Of course there are some still stuck on free weights, will say it's not the same; to those i give you someone named Coleman, big on pulleys and leverage - years ago they were considered only good as finishing, pre-contest exercises-not. Pulley curls are much better for me than the free weights for feelin' the burn, baby, even more so re: triceps.

The only person I have heard of using the bowflex said it doesn't feel anywhere near 400 pounds.

Biceps PUMP? If you want pump do 1500 reps with some pink dumbells, you'll get so much pump your ears will bleed. Pump is for wussies.

Above, one firmly-in-the-box and CLASSIC pinhead, as predicted. You can't write this stuff...And more hearsay on the Bow. Sorry genius, hearsay's for knuckleheads.

Of course I'm out of my mind, and your 21" arms further prove your point. I luuuuv the way these guys dismiss everything and play to the stereotypes. And I'm glad you cleared this up with Ronnie. Wish i could see the world this black and white - should i apologize now for my temerity?

Dude the point is to have a quorum and gain insights through experiences, you've added nothing with your monosyllabic negativity. Nice language though, a class act and clearly very distinguished. Try a new approach that contributes something positive and implies that you have some degree of knowledge.

i dont need to justify or prove my experiences to you when i give an opinion...i apologize for the language and the "unclassy" tone i took, i wasnt aware this was sunday school...that being said

cables will never match up to free weights when it comes to adding size, or anything else for that matter. i wont quote scientific studies to prove my statement because i have none. it is what it is.

once again, your full of shit.
