Hello I'm 44 yrs. old according to my Doc I'm physically healthy but for the past few years I've seen myself change to someone I'm really ashamed to be. I've Been really moody anti-social hostile some points an inability to focus very tired when I sit down I find myself dosing off and been having body pains. As far as my sex life It's really to satisfy my wife erections went away no morning wood. And I feel my testicals gotten smaller. So I got insurance threw my job and got a Doctor. Told her my situation and she ordered blood work. She told me the results don't have a copy but will be getting them next visit the result from the first test I took at 930 am was 260 TT ref 300-1000.

Fast forward 1 week I go back to my Doctor she is on her vacation a male Doctor is filling in he says my testosterone was low and he thinks I should go on trt therapy but wants to take another blood sample. Well I called up Friday and my Doc came back from vaca so the male Doctor wasn't there anymore I asked about my 2nd blood test the nurse on the phone said the Doctor said I was normal. The nurse didn't know the ranges I'll find out this week.

So what I'm asking is say if the Doc tells me I'm 350 ref 300-1000 what can I tell the Doc to convince her to try trt therapy. Any help from anybody is appreciated.

I'm not megatron but will tell you what I would do, regardless of what your test results are I would find out from your doctors office who the male doctor is and start seeing him instead of her. He at least seems to be open to TRT and lets say that your results of the second test were 350, that doesn't mean that he would not be willing to start you on TRT. You really need to get cpies of your two tests and post the results here so that we can give you the best advice we can without just making guesses.

Best of luck!

I agree with Spunkey. Switch to the male doc and get more blood work done.

LH, FSH, Estradiol, Vitamin D, TSH, Prolactin and Free Testosterone/ This along with your two Total Testosterone results should provide a good picture of what is going in with you.

Have you had a sleep study done recently?

Thx for the replies Spunkey and Megatron! Good advice Thursday I have another appointment and I'll post my bloodwork. If my Doctors idea of normal is in the low range I'm going to switch to the male doctor show him my panels. You guys are so helpful stumbled here found my footing and pulling up a chair. Lol

Apnea can have a big impact on ones TT, if you are not getting enough quality sleep then you will send your TT into the gutter. It is also important to ask if you are currently taking or have ever taken any SSRI's which are also known for dropping TT levels down as well.

Forgive me I don't know all the abbreviations I'm new to all this found this site when I googled my symptoms I was feeling didn't even think it might be low T.

Sorry, apnea is referring to sleep apnea and most but not all anti depressants are categorized as SSRI's.
