Glute Injection hurt bad?

so i pinned my glute again then other day as always.however the first two times i tried to stick needle in it went like 2mm in and hurt like a mofo.so i had to move needle then it went in and i felt nothing.View attachment 546840

the circle is where i thought the upper outer spot was but thats where it hurt.i moved down and injected into the triangle spot and that went fine.but is that too low? where should i aim for next time?

too high, should be upper near the lower back

put your thumb on your hip bone stretch your index finger out to the middle of your glute and thats were you pin

Well i actually went higher today and felt no pain. In the pics i posted up above was that too low? Today was real close to lower back
