i think it was a combination of deads @ 525 day before yesterday and squats today @ 475. of course it doesnt help that my gym only has 35lb bars instead of the standard 45
I've had 600 on the bar before and it bounced quite a bit, but it didn't bend permanently that I noticed. A couple bars at the gym are already bent, but we had an 800+ bencher/squatter there some time ago (former Olympic shotputter).
Never heard of a 7 foot 35 pound bar either, it would have to be hollow or have standard ends.
belive it or not they do make bars that are not quite 7 feet long and they weigh 39lbs..at least those are the piece of shit bars my gym buys...
bars bend of course and they whip as well however a quality bar like an Ivanko will bend but it will come back straight once the weight is removed..the cheaper bars will bend and then thats it they stay that way permanently..
it costs my gym 180 for the bars they buy that will literally be useless if anyone with any strength were to use it more than a few times...
Its bad management..My gym would rather buy another one of those $180 bars rather than break downa and buy a quality texas power bar for 250
At my old gym some dicks would take the skinnier bars with more whip that were on the olympic platforms and put them in the squat racks. A few times I loaded the bar without noticing until the bar was bending a shitload with 315 on it.
yep, we gots em............they are long and flemsy and dont come back to shape. i told the owned to get me a good one before i ruined the rest of them......... lol
