Hair loss

So I can tell you right now that I have male pattern baldness. I've got a peak happening on the front no doubt - all genetics, as all my relatives have the same thing. I've never ran an anabolic before.

I'm planning on running one soon. I've done some brief research, basically i've learned to stay away from all the good stuff. No test, no dbol, no sust, ect.

For my first, I'm thinking an all Winn, or all anvar. What do you guys think? Any other prone baldys out there?

I am 40 years old. Have been around lifting for many years. Have comp. in bodybuilding and powerlifting. have won several bodybuilding shows. Linda murry and grand pre to name a couple. Have a 800lbs squat 560 bench and 625 dead lift. Looking to make some new friends and compair notes !

start your own thread buddy.

for the OP, hair loss is a danger relevant to all anabolics. Some are far worse than others (DHT derivs) and everyone reacts differently. Personal experiences with anabolics are related to genetic inheritance so if you are genetically predisposed to hair loss, anabolics will certainly exacerbate this problem. Being that you have never done anabolics, everyone here will suggest that you run a long estered test (enanthate, cypionate) alone for 10-12 weeks at around 400-600 mg/wk. This is always a good cycle along side the proper ancillaries.

You may want to consider running finasteride throughout the cycle. Finasteride is effective for most people, but just like everything else, it comes with its host of sides. Research finasteride and think about which is more important to you, your build or your hair. good luck.

What do you guys think of the anavar? I know my liver is going to probobly pay for my hair to stay in town.. but I've read thats its a pretty good starter cycle, and the hair loss factor is basically non-existing.

I like the idea of Test and rogaine though. Thanks guys

Finasteride works really well. I take Proscar at 1.25 mg's a day. I have been using it for about 3 years now with zero side effects. I also use Rogaine Foam twice a day and Nizoral shampoo EOD. This is the best combo you can use if you want to keep your hair.

At reasonable dosage (eg. <80 mg daily), Anavar will have almost no impact on the hair line.

It has no interaction with the 5-alpha reductase enzyme and has a very low binding affinity for the androgen receptor so it consequently has very low binding affinity for the androgen receptor on the hair follicle.

If you are concerned about your hair line AND if you are going to use test, you need fina to protect your hair line - period. Rogaine alone won't do much for you on a test cycle.

Cashout what do your cycles usually look like?

I am just wondering because you are in great shape and it seems like you are not willing to trade your hair for some muscle.

I don't cycle any more.

I'm almost 42 years old now and I don't compete any longer so there is no need to cycle.

I did start 100 mgs test cyp 2X a week testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) about 18 months ago when my natural test levels dipped below 600 ng/dl.

But, when I did cycle I used test and EQ along with some winstrol when I was prepping for shows.

The heaviest cycle I ever did was 600 mg of test cyp a week and 300 mg of EQ a week for 12 weeks.

I placed 2nd and 3rd in the nationals in my weight class and won the overall in my state show.

So, I am living proof that you don't need a massive amounts of drugs to build a quality physique.

You need a good diet, time in the gym, and commitment.

I'm going to be starting my 3rd cycle pretty soon (waiting on blood results). Going to be T-prop/Mast-Prop/Anavar.

I'm 36 yrs old, no family history of MPB. My pops is 66 full head of hair, Grandfathers on both sides did not lose hair. BUT, is it smart to be proactive about it? Should I add Finastride to my cycle as a preventative measure? If so, what dose? What if any sides are there?

Thanks!

Protip: you can also get a script from your dermatologist for Ketoconazole (Nizoral) 2% shampoo. Technically it's an anti-fungal but it also blocks DHT in the hair follicle and can stop shedding or cause regrowth in MPB cases.

I wouldn't put to much reliance on KCZ to to be an effective treatment for androgen-induced hair loss.

That line of thinking came out of a very poorly done study on 39 men in 1998 and as questionable as the results are they have never again been replicated in a rigorous controlled double-blind follow-up study of any kind.
