Has anyone ever felt better from clomid/nolvadex?

Hey guys, I finally found an endo who will work with me but he wants to start me on just clomid to raise below range testosterone levels (I'm pushing for nolvadex though).

I'm sure this will improve my testosterone levels on paper, but from everything I've read I won't actually feel better. Most people say they have 2-3X total test levels rise but still have low libido, feel like shit etc. Is there any benefit at all to being on this drug?

Do you have hypogonadism? If so, tell us more please.

Hi yes I do, however endo not sure if primary or secondary. So no clear cut treatment here. I've had low t for about 3 years and had only one test where total test suddenly doubled (before crashing again the next 2-3 weeks).

Total Test 7.2nmol/L (8.3-30.2)
SHBG 23nmol/L (13-71)
Free test 167pmol/L (225-725)
LH 5 (1-10)
Fsh 3 (1-10)

So endo finally agreed to put me on clomid 20mg ED (I was turned down by two endo's already). I'm going to push for tamoxifen though as it seems to have a better profile.

How old are you? Height? Weight? Body fat %? Any other medical conditions?

Did you check prolactin, TSH and Vitamin D levels?

24, 6'1, 98kg, 19% bodyfat. Only medical condition is diagnosed depression.

Prolactin, TSH and Vitamin D all within range (I supplement with 5,000iu daily). I've tried just about everything after 3 years since my first diagnosis, every conceivable blood test. Only thing that is always low is Testosterone, LH (well, mid range) and FSH (always 3 on a scale of 1-10). Thyroid checks out too, other than somewhat elevated fT3 but that's another story.

Perhaps my symptoms are idiopathic. My libidio has crashed so I'm finally going to do something about it. Only thing is I can't get testosterone, only options are clomid and nolvadex.

I took Clomid for 2.5 years in hopes of regaining fertility. My sex drive was ok for a while but eventually fell to zero while my T levels were ok at 400-500. (Pre Clomid 270's) I think your instincts are correct and that Clomid probably won't give you the mental and sexual well being you are looking for. I have no experience with Nolva.

I've been on TRT for 6 weeks. It's made me feel like myself again.

Clomid use has also resulted in (from what I've read, permanent) slight vision issues. I see "floaters" in my eyes frequently.

Good luck.

I would definitely try an HPTA restart if I were you. If it doesn't work you can then get on injections for TRT.
