have a new favorite lift

I am doing box squats now because I want to get my form down perfect. I've been using 135 or 155 before I start going heavy. I try to make sure that my knees don't go over my toes, but then I end up having to bend my back far over. Do you ever sit down on the box, or do you just barely touch it?
 
I just started doing them a month or so ago and love them...mostly because I feel safe with something under me....

PowerBuilder: You can sit on the box and relax your hips for just a second...then, explode up!
 
I `ll be back to box squatting after i heal my lower back , what a shame getting hurt for the first time in my training life !!!!!!
 
I`m doing sumo or regular deads and lunges as the core of my leg workout and then i do one set of leg ext and one of leg curl .......
 
i box squatted 500 lbs yesterday and will be trying 600 next week. i am really hooked on them
 
House you are a beast, I felt good box squatting 275 the other day. And I can't even blame it on cutting since you are too. Grrrr :)
 
My partner box squatted 785 the other day, if you want to talk about beasts.

I just do them light, for speed. Very good for explosion in my opinion.
 
box squatting is an awesome excercise but remember house you are lifting the big boy weights and the platform you are sitting on has to be sturdy . lets just say that i personally know for a fact that using plastic buckets or aerobic steps stacked up for your box is hazerdous to you health;)

I know there is a website with videos of exercises, but I don't remember what it is. Hopefully someone will chime in with the link for me.
 
dawg, its all steel brother. i took that into consideration first and foremost. dont want to end up on the floor bro. lol
