HAVE YOU EVER HAD UNEXPLAINED "BLACKOUTS" AFTER COMING OFF A CYCLE?

I am a researcher at McLean Hospital/Harvard Medical School who has been studying anabolic steroids for many years (feel free to Google my name and "steroids" if you're interested). I also happen to be a bodybuilder myself.

In the last several years, I've encountered two guys, both of whom had recently come off a cycle, who developed strange "blackout" episodes, during which they lost all memory for a block of several hours of time. Neither the two men was taking any type of drug when the blackouts occurred; it just seemed to happen at random.

Is there anybody else out there was ever had this happen to them during the first few months after coming off a cycle? If you have experienced anything like this, or you know anybody who has, I would be extremely interested to hear your story. You could post a reply to me here in the thread, or you can e-mail me privately at harrisonpope@mclean.harvard.edu. Of course you don't have to reveal your name or other identifying information if you don't want to.

Even if your story doesn't completely fit with the above, please don't hesitate to write me. Thanks.

Harrison Pope Jr, M.D.

Never happened to me or anyone I know - unless you count Ashton Kutcher in Butterfly Effect.

There is not enough information on their health history to even comment on the subject.

I know you. You're the author of 'Adonis Complex: The Secret Crisis of Male Body Obsession' and other BB-bashing books.

Thoms, Thanks for this revelation! Here is a quote from his book which I found from a Google search:

"There's a widespread crisis among today's boys and men--a crisis that few people have noticed. Men of all ages, in unprecedented numbers, are preoccupied with the appearance of their bodies," the book begins. "They almost never talk openly about this problem, because in our society, men have been taught that they aren't supposed to be hung up on how they look. But beneath the tranquil surface, we see signs of this crisis everywhere."

His theory is in direct contradiction to the truth that we are an obese society. Obesity is the "great crisis" which is threatening the health of our population, not his theory of "The Adonis Complex". What's next, maybe he'll come up with the theory that 2+2 = 5 and not 4!
