ive been going heavy with drop sets, and my bro has been reppin it out. his gains r explosive??? what do you prefer, heavy or light work on the shit, where on the same cycle????????? or do both. thanks for ya input
I hear alot of bros recommend heavy weight at 5 to 8 reps for bulk, I am cutting right now so I will do alot of reps at a decent weight, then other days I will mix it up and do 5 reps of heavy weight.
yea i been hitting heavy and then rep out my last few sets, but my brother has been jane fonda reppin and the punk is gettin big hahaha

You really need to be doing both. There are 2 different kinds of muscle hypertrophy:
myofibrillated hypertrophy: focus on the contractile proteins and makes them bigger and stronger and able to contract harder. This is where strength comes from.
Sacroplasmic hypertrophy: focuses on the belly of the muscle and gives it size. You obtain this from higher reps
Both of these complement each other in a synergistic way.
