hELP!! I am ridiculously disproportionate. Big upper body\and chicken legs..Help!!
i suffer from chicken legs and have always had chicken legs.
I been working out for almost 5 years, I am embarassed to wear shorts cause it is so noticable taht i look funny. I look full as shit up top but then i got two sticks as legs. The part that pisses me off is that i actuially work out my legs. I am currently taking in 3500 cals daily. I am 5'10 and last time i checked 170lbs.
that is why i dont weight that much is casue of my lack of legs.
-i cant just stop working out my upper body and only do legs cause then i would loose weight up top
-i cant do cardio or sprints or running up stairs cause cardio will make me loose weight and i am already too cut up.
i honesltyy dont know what to do anymore.

i am 21 years old.
please help me guys i need to be able to wear short and actualyy not look funny .

deads 3x8

pulldowns 3x5
wed-shoulders

rear delt work- 3x10
shrugs 3x15
thurs- legs
3x5 squats
3x8 sldl

6 sets of calves
fri arms
3x5 preacher
3x5 straight bar
3x8 skull crushers
 
i do dead lifts, squats, bench ...i do it all and been doing it all.

this is a serious problemn i look funny with chicken legs and a bulky upper body
 
Right now i do eat everything in site.
i am taking in 2grams pf protein per pound of body weight.




i cant even wear shorts, it looks too funny. Even on the beach i feel weird walking aroiund cause i am sure poeple think i dont work out my legs, BUT I DO! i bust my ass and i get nothing.


i dont have the answer i hope oneof you guys do

3x5 isn't enough work IMO.

SQUATS
I wou do something like:
2 warmup sets
1 set of 8 reps (failure)
1 set of 20 reps (you'll have to lower the weight a bit for this, but not too light. This set should be hard to get the 20 reps)

You won't be able to walk very well after a squat workout like this.


Anyother thing I like to do is 20 rep squats. I keep adding 45lb plates to the bar after every set and try and get 20 reps each set. This is killer!!!! If you are not a huge squatter yet, you can try this with 25lb plates as well. 20 reps (then add 25 per side), 20 more reps (add another plate), etc until you can't do anymore sets of 20.
 
1. Out of 5 years of training, how many have you trained legs?

2. Have you traind them with as much intensity as your upper body, and as regularly?

Just train them harder, and every week. Give it another 3 years. For now, you gotta live with what you built.

i trian my legs every thursday


there has got to be away to get my legs bigger. cause icant walk around looking so disporportianate.

can i get a leg routine to work with in ordedr to get my legs bigger please.

my legs are alawys going to look small cause of my high calf(i cant move the calves.)
This also hold me back from competing.
i can never compete if i got chicken legs and am not getting any results.
i always want to compete and wish i could, but without big legs i cannot.

Bro for the first time this weekend in my 3 years of lifting I did actual squats in a squat rack, ass to the ground and my legs have never hurt like they do today. I think that it is gonna do wonders for my wheels, I will never go back to the machines .
 
i am starting a 1ad\4ad (with a post cycle therapy (pct) of nolva) cycle in september, lets hope the weight i gain goes to my legs........

wish i had a digital camera bro they say taking pics of yourself every coulple monthys helps show progress. i am not saying i look like ronnie or somehting up top, but my upper body is well deveoloped and lets put it this way.....there wouldnt be poeple asking me why i have chicken legs and that i am bulky up top, but twigs as legs( ig et it alot trust me and it doesnt feel so good, it is apparently very obvious and it bothers me so i gotta find a way to get my calves bigger . hope there is a way....



what about the 20 rep squat rountine how does that work?

3 sets of 20? caues i want to try that.

i am going to do legs on monday ----- prioritize legs.
 
easto hit on a good point wether he meant to or not. everybody responds differently to rep ranges.

may i ask how much you are squatting for those sets of 5? without seeing your form it couldbe that you are dumping it on your back on you squats which will rob you legs of work. get a digital camera and film you squats and send me the video clip. i have sevreal on here tha thave done this and there is always room for improvement.

now back to rep ranges. 1 set of 20 if done rest pauuse is brutal. many grow like weeds off this format if size is what you are looking. this is classic DC training. very effective. another school of thougt on this is (the one i prefer for me) is increasing poundages on leg movements every week or two. added strength normally means more size. with either format form is critical.

and i must add that i am not a fan of 5 days in a row routine.
 
Man high rep squats or deads kill, I hate them so I generally go heavy.

The harder you train and the stronger you get, I find I need more time off. I like to go 2 days in a row and take a day off, then another 2 days, I actually do the whole body over that 4 days now (plus 2-3 days time off during the week).

I do more than 3 sets of squats, I dont do any leg presses, felt like they were robbing me. I do SLDL only as my warmup for curls, I do 2 sets, heavy.

I still do old fashioned leg extentions/curls as my finisher after my mass movements.
 
20's are old school brutal hardcore... when you get up to double your bw on the bar it takes about 5 minutes to finish the set (and you dont rack the bar until you're done.. if you've not got a cambered bar it can be really hard on your shoulders & wrists)

good luck doing 3 sets of them, much less anything else afterwards lol

a huge 170lbs.. heh :)

good luck bro, just do your squats and whatever rep range works for you work your ass off
