Help: Using Ralox To Combat Finasteride-Induced Puffy Nipples

Hi!

Not exactly a question related to steroids, but you all seem to be in the know regarding issues such as this, so I thought I'd ask. I've been taking finasteride for about a year now for hair loss, got a relatively mild case of puffy nipples about six months in, which hasn't progressed since. There are no hard lumps under my nipples whatsoever and they look fine when they are erect. From the outside, it seems as if some extra fat has accumulated under the areola, but I never gained fat like this under my nipples pre-fin.

Since finasteride is a potent anti-androgen, it is more than likely that my puffy nipples are caused by an androgen-estrogen imbalance. I have booked a an appointment with an endocrinologist to confirm this imbalance. Should I receive confirmation, would using ralox for a couple of months be an effective treatment for my puffy nipples? If yes, wouldn't it be likely for the condition to recur given that I'm not getting off finasteride? Any other supplements you would recommend to remedy the androgen-estrogen imbalance?

Thx!

d.

The fina may be raising your estradiol (e2) by inhibiting the reductase of your testosterone.

If there is no actual enlarged breast tissue (generally you can feel the lumps) then no, using Ralox won't help. What you are describing is psuedogynocomastia; fat tissue being stored around the nipples which gives the 'man boobs' look. The only thing that will help if that's the case is losing some fat. Have you gained any weight recently?

I wouldn't stress about it, especially if it's not progressing. Just get some basic bloodwork done (e2, Prolactin, TT, free T, Lh, Fsh, etc.) and assess from there. Unless prolactin and/or e2 are high you can pretty much rule out actual gyno. High prolactin alone can cause some puffiness, but not actual gyno. E2 being the main culprit here.

1- See what the endo says
2- Ralox would help
3- Perhaps some time of from the fina isnt a bad idea
discuss all with your endo at your appointment.

DHT is known to antagonize the actions of estrogen in the body. Eliminating DHT is very unnatural for a man and can cause a lot of problems. Hair loss sucks but i would never touch finasteride. You may or may not have real gyno. You can post a picture and see what people say.
