i have recently picked up a shoulder injury whilst on my cycle. but the unjury only stops me from doing flat bench both barbell and dumbell, which was my favorite exercise. i was benching over 400lb, now i am below that.

Now my main chest exercise is incline and weighted dips. does anyone think that not being able to do flat bench bench will be a problem for my chest development.

Been there done that. Bro, do not do cort shot - bad, very bad. Look into prolotherapy. Do a search and check it out. I had problem with my left shoulder and ended up out of the gym for one and 1/2 years due to pain. That was until I researched prolo. Within 2 months I was back in! Now I have much the same problem with my right shoulder - I'm on prolo again for that. I can testify that it WORKS!!

Prolo is getting a shot of 'sugar water' in the joint. I know it sounds strange but it works! It causes inflamation (it also hurts like hell). inflamation is a result of increased blood flow, increased blood flow means inceased healing which is what you want. From my understanding there isn't much blood flow through the joints so it only helps to increase it and let the body heal it's self.

Yes, shoulders have limited blood supply which is one of the reasons why shoulder injuries take an age to heal.

Ditto to this. I treat many patients w/ prolotherapy. It cured both of my shoulders from rotator cuff injuries. I can't MAKE them hurt in the gym anymore.

Nice explanation bro ;)

IMPO, every BB/PL should know about prolotherapy. Minimal "down time", strengthens ligament/tendon tissue, non-surgical, natural mechanism, cost-effective.
Below is a link to the American Association of Orthopedic Medicine (note: Orth. Medicine, not Surgery). This is one of several North American organizations that teaches and promotes prolotherapy as well as other physical medicine modalities. Getprolo.com is a useful site as well, lots of info there.

I have convinced several people on taking it, ALL fell the difference on their injurys !! good natural stuff also used in danish hospitals ! :)

Tendonitis. Rest it, dont do anything that hurts it, take anti-inflamitories, vit c, glucosamine, ice twice/day, and physiotherapy.

And do it for at least 3 months if your lucky. Dont keep using it or you will be sorry. Just dont do ANYTHING that hurts it. Everything else is ok.

no offense, but this is the WRONG advice. I have been getting ART (active release techniques) for years. there is no reason to take months off while going through agonizingly slow therapy.

go to www.activerelease.com and check it out. on a side note, i began getting prolotherapy for my low back and knee two weeks ago, so we'll see how it goes. those two areas are the only things that ART has not been able to cure for me.
