New to all of this, Im ex college swimmer. 51 now and just feeling sluggish and old. Went to anti-aging clinic and IGF-1 test showed 187.

Doc said replacement HGH would allow me to feel better and train a little harder. He said Test level were fine but didn't give me a number.

But prices he gave me were 13 per IU 2 IU per day. Humatrope. I would like to use year round. Is there any other legitimate Sources at better pricing.

Thank You for any help.

I respect your dilema but ...gh is high every where and source check s in an open forum are a no go...but make some friends and ask around...it s e ZZZZZZZZZZZZ TO figgger out.....

Hgh

thank for the info, like I said Im a little green didnt know where to start.

You have to be less aggressive on the forums regarding sources. People will take advantage of you.

Prob best to ask more questions about the use and information on expectation etc. Post your stats...Ht, wt, goals etc.

There are several of here that are older and using various supplements. But you will be told quickly, asking for a source is a bad idea.

Welcome.

If your doc said your test levels were fine I would get them tested again somewhere else. I'm sure at your age a testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) dose of test would make you feel like a new man and is actually very healthy. Gh would probably be good too but I would look into test replacement first. You can find generic HGH at a much better price but if you can afford that then go for it.

I would request your blood work and post your test levels and we can go from there. Stick around a little and I'm sure you will find all you are looking for.

Thanks for help.

Im 6' 1" 185, Don't know exact body fat but had it done at local gym with a simple device that pinch my skin or something, guy said body fat was 16%.

Lab report
IGF-1 187
Estradiol-6 57.0 pg/mL
Testosterone 789.6 ng/dL
Free Testosterone .57 ng/dL (Marked Low)
Testosterone. % Free (Calc) 0.07 (Marked Low)
24 hr Urine Testosterone 15 (Marked Low)

I felt good up till about 49 and it just seems like the wheels came off. Excess fat around my gut poor sleeping Crappy workouts cardio seems fine.

Your testosterone levels are great! Your GH level is not bad for your age Raising it should help you feel better over all. Here is a link for refference chart. Insulin-like growth factor 1 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
BF% not horrible but if you brought it down a little that may help you feel a little better as well. Nutrition is a big factor! Meening you may want to take a closer look at the type of foods you eating! Check The Diet section here or Talk with 3J he may be able to point some things out that you could change nutritionally that would help.

My Opinion is. I would Take your DR advise If you can afford it! I would let him perscride the theropy and monitor you to see that you get the results your looking for. If you find that it does help and you know what dose you need. Then I would look for a cheaper sorce at that point. At the price you mentioned works out to 806 a month! IMO that a cheap price to improve my health (on a trial only basis) once you find out it works and you know the dose that is affective, And you want to be on it year round as you say. Then deffinatly price shop! But Say you find a cheaper sorce and you buy it. Then it dosent help? Where are you know?

Stick with the Doc to start! Just my 2 cents

Good luck to you with this I hope you start feeling 20 again!

Keep us posted with your progress. If you do persue Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) I would like to see at what IGF-1 Level you start feeling better.

Typical Free Test is aprox 1.5-2.9% obviusly we want to run some where in the middle of that! Your a little low yes. Many things can cause this Medications your taking Alcohol. Hers another link to read Free Testosterone - SHBG

I was commenting on the total test. It is actually really good. I am 44 and mine runs 271 so on TRT. Hell yours is like a 20yr old lol

Your estro is a bit high as well. Honestly your Total Test is sky high for your age but free test is what actually counts.

exactly, we are learning more all the time and bottomline, total test is almost a worthless number for our concerns, free test is all that matters.

besides if your IGF is that much in the crapper, then either it was a false reading, or T is bad too.

the only true way to diagnose AGHD is to have low IGF amongst other hormones that are out of balance.

and that price is pretty normal for prescription HGH.

Ok gents well here is an intresting read for you. It is my opinion in this situation you raise free Test by increasing your over all test!

Try and find a doctor that will perscribe him testosterone with those levels. If you do I would like his name. GH seems to be our master Hormone regulating all other hormones Naturally!

Correct me if I am wrong here. It seems to me that for feeling better one should fix that problem fisrt then recheck. And proceed as neccesary?

Bringing up gh levels to normal should as well increase testosterone levels. If at that point free test is low further reaserch should be done to get to the cause!

Does HGH Increase Testosterone Levels

If you are interested in knowing the answer to the question "Does HGH Increase Testosterone Levels" read the following.

The hormone which greatly influences male secondary characteristics is testosterone. Testosterone influences masculine characteristics such as muscular built, deepening of voice, growth of hair and beard and height increase in males. Testosterone also increases libido.

Among the many supplements available in the market today, the ones which are more effective are those containing human growth hormone. There have been reports about the fact that HGH directly increases testosterone levels. But is it true? Does HGH increase testosterone levels?

HGH and testosterone

As a backgrounder, let us first review what testosterone is and what influences its secretion. Testosterone is secreted in the testes and is the main hormone behind male characteristics such as deepening of voice, growth of beard and torso hair, and sexual libido.

An interesting fact is that testosterone seems to decline after age 30. Since male personality is highly influenced by the production of testosterone, a decline in its production leads to some serious health ramifications. And you wonder, what is in young age that makes testosterone so abundant during that time.

The secret behind testosterone secretion is growth hormone. Growth hormone is at greater levels at a young age. It controls the production of all the other hormones in the body, including testosterone. During puberty, great amounts of HGH are being secreted by the pituitary gland to have a multitude of effects.

Growth hormone also exerts its effect on the testicles. It binds directly to the testicular cells through specialized receptors. After binding to specialized receptors, growth hormone stimulates the release of testosterone. Growth hormone also stimulates the release of IGF-1 or insulin like growth factor in the liver to provide energy for making testosterone so that there will be rapid turnover of amino acids and other raw materials for hormone production. IGF-1 gives extra energy by burning readily available glucose and our fat reserves.

Growth hormone also stimulates the release of amino acids which serves as raw material for testosterone production. Hormones are made from steroid and protein building blocks, so that if there is increased raw material, there is also increased synthesis of testosterone.

Thus HGH increases testosterone levels and promotes muscle building and sexual libido.

I wouldn't go on test therapy... your total test is phenomenal, especially for your age...

I would get SHBG levels tested... if that's what's binding up your test, it's a very easy fix... something like proviron can fix that... but, even better, there are a number of OTC supplements that are very good for lowering SHBG

IMO, $800 is pretty pricey for GH... I understand that it's your health here, but I wouldn't be able to swing it... maybe try the Peptides route instead... they will kickstart your sytem to make more GH, as opposed to supplementing it externally.

this is terrible advice, and it shows how little you know about the diagnosis and treatment of hypogonadism. did you even watch the video where he blatantly explains its common to see young guys with low total t and good free t with no symptoms, but older guys with good total t and bad free t with tons of symptoms? he even mentions guys in theoir 50's with 700 total t scores...............sound familiar?

treat the symptoms, not the paper. you should stick to advice about cycling.
