Hi Guys new UK member suffering from low T.. TRT advice warmly welcomed
Hi Guys,
I am so glad to have found this place. I am not a body builder although I did occasionally like to work out in my twenties.
I am 37 and live in the UK. I felt ill for approx a year after working away and I just thought I had burnt the candle at both ends. After almost a year I went to the Docs. They suggested blood tests etc.
The only one that came back abnormal was my thyroid TSH which was 6.3 They indicated that anything over 5 was sub-clinical Hypothyroid and wouldn't treat it unless over 10.
Suggesting the reason why I felt so awful (lethargic, tired, no sex drive, dizzy and anxious) might be something else. i.e drinking too much or depression. (Both of which I was sure were not the problem)
I kept pushing the GP and they said they would only refer me to an Endo just to shut me up and basically HE could tell me that I didn't have a thyroid problem.
Just before going to the Endo I suggested they do more bloods (no point waiting 5 months just to be told hey, we need to do bloods etc!.. lets wait another 3 months)
They found that my Prolactin levels were abnormally high. So retested and then checked my Testosterone. That came in Low and LH and FSH came in Low.
The Endo thought that I possibly had a pituitary tumour and booked an MRI. 3 months later I had my scan and discovered that my pituitary was damaged/not easily observed in the scan. I was diagnosed with having Empty Sella Syndrome.
I have been placed on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) for the last 5 months I have been on sustanon 250 injected once every 3 weeks. I felt Ok-ish most of the time. But almost once a week I would suffer something like a panic attack/ anxiety. Normally always in the evening between 8pm-3am. Where my heart would race, irregular/heavy heartbeat. I mentioned this to my GP who gave me betablockers to use when they happen also Atarax to take when I feel them come on. (atarax -hydroxyzine hydrochloride).
Now I take them when I feel the need. But I know it's just masking the issue. They do help-a little but don't stop the attacks.
I was wondering if it's something to do perhaps with different esthers in the Sustanon kicking in/out? Oestrogen levels.
Just been to the Docs as apparently Sustanon 250 is now impossible to get due to a shortage. I thought I would trial Testogel thinking maybe this would ease anxiety etc?
I asked for bloods to be done as I have had NO follow ups in 6 months- basically put on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) and left to rot (or so it feels anyway lol).
The bloods that I had done all came back in range. Except the Test and SHBG results. Apparently they got spoilt in the lab so I have had to go back and get the bloods redone. Should know those results next week.
Basically I am supposed to start putting on the Testogel starting this Friday (starting dose is 50mg of T in a 5g packet 1 sachet a day). Just wanted to know what you guys think about my situation please?
Please bare in mind that all of this is from the National Health Service here in the UK and they seem to be very backwards in dealing with these treatments compared with elsewhere.
Would love to get to chat with some of you guys. The world seems to have lost it's shine for me recently and I really want to get back to being the 'real' me.
Thanks alot guys for reading this and I hope that someone can help.
