High cost of HCG - do I really need it for TRT?

My insurance will not cover HCG and pricing it on goodrx.com shows an average price of ~$230 for 1 vial (10ml) of chorionic gonadotropin 10000 units (generic).

Do I really need HCG when on TRT? I'm not worried about fertility. I'm not thrilled about shrinking testis and lack of load - are there other benefits to HCG?

It'll be significantly cheaper if you fill your prescription at a compounding pharmacy.

HCG isn't mandatory, but most of us prefer to use it. The testes serve several other functions outside of sperm production, so it makes sense (to me) that we should want to keep them around.

My testicles began to ache as they began to atrophy. Avoiding that discomfort was enough reason for me to use hCG. I also don't like the idea of my loads diminishing in size. Seems weird to care about that, but for some reason I do.

Some guys also report poor orgasm intensity after their testicles shut down. I'm not interested in experiencing that either.

I hope we don't need it I haven't used any ever and been on over a year

Need? No. But you would probably like it if you tried incorporating it. You can always stop using it if you find it doesn't add any value. I would recommend trying it for 3 months. 250-500iu twice a week.

DHEA and pregnenolone backfilling are why I've gone through the hassle of procuring HCG. I'm done with kids, don't care about my testicular size, and the amount of spooge I generate is of no concern to me.

I went like 3 years without it, but was supplementing with micronized forms of the other hormones. I tried HCG after reading that it was a superior way to stimulate their production, and enjoyed the results.

Necessary, no. Beneficial, yes.

My .02c :)

maybe I'll get some at right one of these days that's probably one of the only things I can't get because I've never looked into it

It is kind of strange how something so harmless is so difficult to find for many. I always think it's a good idea to at least see how you feel on something. If no difference, at least you know. :)

I also performed a number of Google searches on the topic, but couldn't find anything conclusive in reference to benefits of HCG, other than fertility. I want to get dialed into TRT, let things settle down and then try HCG. I'm a big believer in keeping variables constant to determine causality.

The guys are trying to tell you that your body is not manufacturing certain hormones which you should have in your body because of TRT. I went thru the same quandary and decided to take HCG. I see a very noticeable improvement. I hope you try it someday. You will not go back to not using it.

I wish you the very best of luck on your quest for better health

It is a good idea to let yourself stabilize on TRT first, then play around with HCG. I saw a slight increase in my test levels when I started using HCG - not much, but some. I suspect it is because the HCG is causing my body to create its mediocre amount of test again.

I picked up 20,000 ui (5,000 x 4) for $****** ... Should I be concerned?
