How can I get my calves to grow?

I have no problem getting size on my thighs, but my calves refuse to get bigger. My calves have always been small, and it seems no matter how hard I push them, they don't grow.

What would be a good routine to get them big?
 
standing calf raises, give yourself a good stretch on the lower part of the movement, and in the high part of the movement hold for 10 seconds, repeat for 15 to 20 reps.
 
How often should I work them? I hear they recover fast, so you can work them practically everyday, is this true?
 
If you work calves with intensity you will be far too sore to work them every day, twice a week is enough.

Yeah, if your a girl!!! I do Mint when I'm bored. Kodiak winter green and straight Cope snuff is the man's dip. :p
 
1 day a week with legs. Do calf raises with weight to about 10 reps with failure then immediately after do your own body weight with standing calf raises as quickly as you can for 15-20 reps. Repeat that 2 more sets and you will not be able to walk. Trust me, it grew mine big time.
 
Keep in mind that your calves work hard for you every day. They can take a beating. Takes a heavy routine to see results but I still only work them once a week.

No way!!!! That guy looks like he has a baby growing in each arm! I want to still look normal.
 
Fuck genetics. Heavy weight 15-30 reps. I had no calves to begin with and now I do. Sure you are stuck with the shape you have but not necessarily the size.
 
Here is a calf routine that works well for those with "stuck" calves.

Use either a standing calf raise machine, or leg press calves.

Warm-ups and 2 HEAVY sets of 8

Reduce the weight and do 2 rest-pause sets of 15/30. These sets will make you want to cry, and will likely up your calf size. Don't expect to walk when finished.
