ok i was in the gym the other day and some guys were talkin about supps and then vitamins were mentioned and of course i got involved in the conversation ...but it was mentioned that if ur vitamins or what ever pill u take doesnt disolve in h2o in 20 mins its shit....well i thought what a crock ..so of course when i got home i tried it and would u know it the vitamins i take barely disoved...and my ala gell cap just deformed as did my stacker2 pill and vit E gel cap....now some of my other vits that werent in the pac of vits i take disoved pretty fast hell the zinc from spring valley was powder in 4 min flat but my amino acid pill didnt disolve at all and i left it in the water over night as with some of the pills from my animal pac....and the uni-liver i take took about 45 min to disolve ....so my question is how accurate is this testing .......because isnt stomach acid just a lil more corrisive than water???? and sould i be concerned???or was that guy talkin out his ass?? did i mention he has his own vitamin line that he sad would disolve in under 20 min???thanks for the help guys...

Yeah, just slightly more corrosive ;) Like on the order of 100,000 times more corrosive :D

Put a piece of meat in water and see how long it takes for it to break down. Then ask the guy if he really thinks it takes weeks for meat to digest lol.

But seriously, SOME things are difficult for the body to actually break down. I know Centrum vitamins are covered with shit like bee's wax, and they don't break down too well in the digestive tract. Geletin is just a protein...same thing as in Jell-o...so your body will break it down and digest it. Cellulose caps are a bit harder to break down, but they can. If it's just a compressed cap, the hydrochloric acid, digestive enzymes, and churning action of the stomach should break it down.

yea ....thanks frosty ........plus half the stuff i use has digestive enzymes in them and i also eat a fat free plain yogart cup eod.....so i thank my digestive enzymes should be kickin ass in there.....i just wanted to know if there was any valitity to what the guy said..........
