I've been wondering the same thing. This is about how much time I've been spending. I go in and hit the weights taking as few breaks as possible for water and get out.
I tend to go a little over an hour most of the time. It depends how heavy I am going. On days where reps are in the 8-12 range I hardly rest and can be done in 45. On days when I am doing 5-6 reps I need to take a little more time in between sets to catch my breath. Don't really pay too much attention to time though, gotta love working out at home.
BS for sure... they don't train any longer, 1 hour max per bodypart and usually one bodypart per day, trained once per week
the only time they are in the gym longer is... some guys do more cardio pre-contest and some do two-a-days pre-contest... Kevin Levrone was known to do the same workout twice per day (ie. chest/shoulders/tris morning and evening) leading up to a contest. I remember him saying that he would actually be stronger on the second workout, believe it or not haha... but he is one in a million, one of the only guys that would gain weight pre-contest, and only train 6 months of the year
