i am not on any gear yet and was just about to start my first test cycle in a week. I have been training for 2 years and have gotten to weigh 205 solid 5'9. I maxed out my bench at 300 for 1 rep last week and since then my wrist and shoulder have been hurting. I went to the doctor today and he said I have tendinitis in my right hand and inflamed joint in my left shoulder. I want to know if anyone has had these problems as I here they are common for power lifters, and any advice on how to work through or around them because I dont want to just watch all my work disappear by having to layoff for a month or longer. Input from some vets would be much appreciated.

Lay-off???

I tore my left hamstring on Sunday...there IS NO LAY-OFF.

Icy-Hot, Aleve, ice, rest, stretching, horse liniment, active recovery, tape, ace bandages, wrist wraps, and strengthening the area...is the answer.

I agree with the strongman.... except for the NO layoff idea. For tendinitis, NO LAYOFF unless it gets to where you just can't bear the pain anymore. For a hamstring tear, take a little time off. BTW, which hammie did you tear?

Yes I've had that. Take some painkillers and go to the gym. It doesn't sound too bad honestly. There's "hurt pain" and there's "injured pain." Sounds like you have hurt pain.

thanks for the feedback everyone. I will post my pics up as soon as i get them developed.

and It's not that I want to stop, believe me. I was telling the doc I want to keep lifting, and I guess I will. I just wanted to know how more experienced lifters go about this.

thanks

Naw man, I meant which one of the 3 hamstring muscles....I'm just curious since this kind of relates to the stuff that I'll be seeing later on in my athletic training career. I'd just like to know how you handle it.

Yours is not so bad. I tore mine 2 years ago right off. I had to have it surgically reattached. I had to stop for a while. I couldn’t even tie my shoes up or sit down normally... I felt like an invalid.

That sounds normal to me. That's why I'm wondering which muscle b fold tore. If it was a complete tear of either the Biceps Femoris or Semimembranosus, I'm pretty sure he wouldn't be able to do jack.

I tied my Chucks onto my feet today...with little pain. It took about 5 minutes and my face was nice and red.

Not sure what muscles I tore. It looks prettier every day...lol

Tonight I box squatted my body weight. I actually went down and got stuck on the box for about 5 minutes. 2 weeks ago I did a pretty easy 585 box squat...tonight I failed with my body weight.

585, 2 weeks ago

body weight...tonight (in lots of pain)

I'm suggesting that everyone buy stock in Aleve and horse liniments!!!!

hey what about shoulder injuries.....I think I fucked up my shoulder on saturday.I was working on my shoulders .1 hour into workout two of my friends teased me and said that I can't push 3 plates.I thought that I was pretty wormed up but fiiiiijuu my arms were but not my front delts and chest. On second rep I've heard something go "klick" in my right shoulder.Didn't hurt right away I worked out for another hour and went home.I woke up at 4 in the morning my right shoulder was killing me.Pain was comming from the top of my front deltoid. There was little swelling but by 6 o'clock it looked ok.Earlyer today (monday)hurt a little.Right now I have full range of motion(compared to sunday 30%) in my arm and it hurts only a little.Today is my bench day didn't go, tomorrow, I will go and I'll hit it hard .What do you guys think should I try to bench tomorrow or what.
PS I'm on gear:40oz: :40oz: :40oz:
