I know you can't spot reduce, but...

PiNCHe GRiNGa!
Are there particular exercises that will help slim down my hips?? I've lost 20lbs in the past three weeks, but none of it came off of my hips, which sucks...Since I'm over the weight max to enlist, they do a tape-measure body fat test, which happens to be totally inaccurate...there's a 19% difference between the tape and the calipers...blah...Anywayyyy...One of the guys at the recruiting office (not a recruiter..."civilian contractor") commented that I had teeny wrists, a skinny-ass neck, and then started "singing" the Sir Mix-a-Lot song "Baby Got Back"...So my problem area, obviously, tends to be my hips/glutes...It's totally throwing off my BF...

A lot of it was water, too...so I prolly gained back about 5-7 of those lbs this weekend...but my hip measurement stayed the same...

Yeah, I've been watching my sodium...fake salt, mrs. dash, etc...stupid diet im on to drop this weight...sucks...took a week off, back at it again tomorrow...yay...

Dad was a jarhead =) Guess it's in my blood...dunno though...All this shit that I've put myself through the past month has made me question if it's worth it...That, among other things...

ok, first of all- what is your cardio like? sprints really work for shaping my legs; also walking on the treadmill for an hour at a super high incline. keep in mind that the quicker you lose the weight, the quicker it will pile back on when you stop crash-dieting. you're right- you can't spot reduce, but you CAN add muscle and definition to your lower body with a good weight routine and solid diet. like TTTG said, if there's no rush, then DON'T. no reason to mess up your metabolism and burn up muscle if you don't have to. Good luck; PM me with questions!
