hay gang...well, I just got my lab result from my endocrinologic appointment earlier and it was from my fasting blood work...

so apparently, my fasting plasma glucose is 13 points higher than the said limit of 109, which is 122. i'm kind of worried about it..I mean, I stopped drinking soda/beer/alcohol, stopped eating sweets..so I'm thinking...about it being carbo related. last month, it was only 2 points above the limit. I was thinking, maybe it's the 2 weeks of doing nothing (due to the illness and recovery period) and just eating tons and tons.

anyways...adding heavy cardios.

thinking of this split from now on. got a month and some weeks before my next work up, which will consist of an oral glucose tolerance test ..kinda worried there.

so here:

Sunday: Cardio with abs
Monday: Cardio only
Tuesday: Legs/hammies/calves/abs
wednesday: chest/shoulder/tri
thursday: rest
friday: rest
sat: back/bi/forearms/abs

would it be alright???

oh and another thing....is doing cardio after workouts alright?? is it a big deal?? do you guys do it?? would you even recommend it???

thanks guys!

I'm diabetic too. I've never done cardio actually because I have a very fast metabolism (sorry I guess I can't help you there). I just make sure I don't eat sweets or things of that nature. I'm more of a borderline diabetic, so I'm not on pills or insulin.

you need to clean up your carbs. I am the same way. no more white anything, bread, rice, noodles or pasta. If you eat bread go to a pumpernickle or at least a ture whole grain, brown rice and if you need to whole grain noodles. Get a book about gl index. The one I used was gi revoultion. I t will teach more foods to switch you still get a good carb intake just dosent impact you sugar as much.

Wondering the same thing

a fasting over 100 -120 is borderline. You should be alright just cut out the whites I listed above and you should be ok. Is there a history of this in your family?

nope. no history at all. I know mine is just around borderline but it still scares me. so more cardio then..and prolly drop weight and see what happens. thanks bros

You're small and young, dropping weight won't do anything. If you are getting problems right now, the problem isn't with your diet or your weight, it's with your pancreas. You can alleviate the problems right now with a diet lacking high GI carbs, but there isn't much you can do to stop Type I Diabetes.
