Try a triangular metal file to score the amp at the neck, or you can purchase an amp opener. I think the file is cheaper (like $2 at a hardware store), that's what I go with.

im with TX on this one the triangle file has had 100% success rate with me for the icns , and cough cough rumor has it that ive opened hundreds of those little boogers

I use an amp opener, you need to run it around the amp a few times before it starts scoring the glass, then run it a few more time to get a good score on it.

the amp opener is a great idea, if not, just score it with anything sharp. I also found wrapping the base of the amp in a dish towel helped spread the pressure out, otherwise they were exploding in my hands
