Im buying a new Springfield XDM .45 Automatic. Anyone own one?

DUDE I LOVE THEM, ive had the .40 an .45, one thing i didnt like tho was the clip. Bullets were a bitch to get in right around the 6th bullet. Otherwise, very light gun, amazing hand gipping for shooting, recoil is pretty light for a .45, surprised me... over all amazing gun

I looked at one at a show last week. I also saw a gov issue colt 1911. I've been doing some reading about the colts. What are the changes to the custom.

specs

Springfield's 6 inch Long Slide models are an industry first. One inch longer than our Full-Size 1911-A1s, the Long Slide offers increased sight radius for improved accuracy and a longer barrel for higher velocity. Muzzle forward weight distribution reduces recoil and allows quicker shot to shot recovery.

you shoot any USPSA? im going to start shooting USPSA next year. never shot any competitions yet tho. i may try some steel challenge too. i hear IPDA is crazy strict and the RO's tend to take the fun out of it.

I just shoot IDPA. I wanted to shoot 3 gun
and have the tools but the competitions are too far away.

I get to shoot at Quantico Marine Base
every once in a while. They have a 1000 yard range. We get out the long guns
and start tappin them in there. I still find it amazing that you can shoot a bullet over 1/2 mile and hit a 12 inch target. I am not as good as the other shooters at 1000.
My spred is more like 3-4 feet. They can tap 5 shots in 6 inches at 1000. Unbelieveble what thes weapons can do.

I have the XD 40. Nice gun. I also have glock 23 and the smith and wesson m&p40. I carry the glock because it fits in the waistband easily. I like how the XD shoots. The m&p is pretty sweet to. Recently been carrying a ruger lcp. Feels like nothing there but really convenient, just not so sure on it's stopping power.

Im a big fan of springfield. I have two operators long railed. Theyre hard to come by. Accuracy is great on them
