This can happen with any oil based IM injection. Always aspirate and pin s-l-o-w-l-y. It'll minimize the pip and give you time to stop the pin if you start a reaction. Glad your ok kamikaze.

I've never had this issue injecting in the quads, only the glutes.

No it was a partial injection into the bloodstream, I tested it this morning. I calmly injected a few drops into my blood stream and had the exact reaction as the other day. Apparently my body doesn't enjoy being poisoned.
