Injection Site Tenderness

JOWS6

I am banned!
I've been doing subcutaneous shots since the start of my protocol and decided to try one IM shot. The initial pinch felt no different but throughout the day my leg started to feel very tender. I woke up today with the same feeling and it hurts when I stretch or put weight on my leg. Is there something I should be cautious about when delivering via IM?

I also want to address the subcutaneous vs intramuscular topic. I understand IM is the preferred method because people have been doing it this way for so long. Subq is a relatively new idea for delivering testosterone that I believe will catch on. In the thread below, some people voted for IM but have you tried subq? I've read a study that stated subq is an effective way to administer testosterone and those who went this route reported higher QOL rates then those who delivered IM.

I believe those who are a strong advocate against subcutaneous injections without having tried it are halting the progress of testosterone replacement therapy (TRT). It took a while to understand that weekly shots were more effective than bi-weekly or tri-weekly shots even though the evidence was right there in our faces (concerning roller-coaster effects and half-lives of esters). It took a while to understand that orally administered testosterone bound to methyl was dangerous to the liver. I took awhile to overcome the stigma of testosterone and prostate cancer. It took a while to understand the necessity of an aromatase-inhibitor or HcG. As you can see, testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) is was not cut-and-dry from the beginning but "evolved" into what we consider standard today.

I'm not saying that subq is exponentially far greater than IM, but what I am saying is that subq is something to consider trying.

I like the pain associated with soreness from lifting but not this kind of pain. It feels like a bad bruise without the discoloration. I think I did something wrong and I think I'll switch back to subcutaneous injections.

Naw IM always hurts the first few times, glutes are the least painful (hardly any). The test c is very very painless compared to some UGL stuff.

I have IM pinned outer thighs, glutes, shoulders and chest, NEVER will i ever pin in calves again, i could not walk for 2 days and got an infection, i would not try Biceps either, read a lot of bad stuff about that.

I have been alternating right clute, left glute, right thigh, then left thigh.

With the glutes I use a 25ga x 1.5"long pin. There is only very mild soreness after a day or so. The problem with the glute injections for me is the access. I find it hard to get back there with two hands. you need to be pretty flexible with your arms.

With the quads its easy access. I use a 25ga x 5/8" long pin. The problem here is the soreness is pretty bad for 2 to 4 days after the shot. The left quad hurts alot more than my right quad for some reason.

I'm alternate between glutes and quads. Really thinking about a delt shot this week. I'm sore for about 2-3 days after. Nothing too bad. I use a 23g 1.5" on the glutes and a 25g 1" on the quads and delts (probably). I have to say though that I'm very curious about the subQ injections. Might have to give that a try.

Ok, update on the pain. It was getting worse yesterday and it got to the point where going up the stairs or walking was painful. I started massaging my leg and noticed my muscle was extremely tight. I felt my other leg and it felt much softer. Even when it was completely relaxed, it was tense. I placed a heating pad on it to ease the tension and stretched it out. It's feeling much better today.

When you inject, are you sitting, standing? Maybe I injected when my muscle was tense?

I inject quads while sitting. The first few I did were pretty sore. Every now and then, I will get one that is sore for a couple days. As you said, feels like a bruise without the discoloration.

I just deal with it. The short term discomfort is nothing compared to the long term benefits I get from testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) protocols!

Just take the weight off one of the cheeks and use a 23 gauge to inject the cyp in the glutes. I would not mess with subq stuff. You want the stuff deep in the muscle so it gets absorbed better. You should have no soreness after the first injection or two, if that. I don't have any.

Glutes, shoulders, chest, bi or traps I do standing

Legs I do sitting

Massage for 60 sec after to disperse.

I sorta like the pain :)

Question for the OP:

I am very interested in trying sub q but am a little nervous about the possibility of winding ip with a hard lump that won't go away for a while. I do peps sub q and sometimes get a small (but visible) lump from that and it is a tiny amount of fluid.

How much test are you injecting? How often? Where are you injecting it? Does it ever lump up on you?

Thanks!
