Injection soreness question

Hi guys,
I just pinned myself for the 2nd time since starting trt. The first time I stuck it in the butt. I must say I felt like a dog chasing my tail, but I did get it done. The glute was sore for a couple of days but not bad. This last time I figured I'd do my quad. I did that 1 day ago & the whole quad is real sore. Kinda like 1-2 days after doing a heavy leg workout. Is this normal? I have done cycles before, but that was prob 20 years ago & I dont remember it being this sore. I am not overly concerned. Just wanted to check with the guys that would know. Thanks

I STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM QUADS AS POSSIBLE. :noway: ALWAYS CHEEK TO CHEEK, SHOULDER TO SHOULDER. TO MANY NERVES TO HIT IN YOUR QUADS. JUST MY OPINION.

My first injection was shoulder...and that ached like a bitch for days afterwards. Now i'm strictly in the glutes and never have any soreness

yeah i second the quad soreness! mine hurt like hell for like a bit over a week straight1 i couldnt even do squats it hurt that bad, and not sure why? but i will say that i felt better emotionally and attitude wise doing it in the quad then in the right ass cheek... wierd, but it is true, i wil pin my next 200 on monday in the cheek as well and see how i feel during th week?

also on another note, when ever i have shot Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) into my stomach on the right side, it has hurt as well, and not sure why?

I pin my quads periodically just to keep rotation fresh and that's where my doc had me doing it. I've read research that shows glutes provide the best absorbed, most evenly distributed pattern, quads a close second, delts next. My understanding is injection site can affect half life- glutes max, smaller muscles like delts/biceps shorter. Matters more with longer esters like cyp or enanthate than short/no esters (propionate/suspension). Not sure it's really worth paying attention to for most.

I never have a problem with glutes, delts get a little sore sometimes but nothing major. About 75% of the time with quad it gets sore - quad soreness is very common. Also, to Chip's point on nerves, several times I have hit one - at least I think I have. Putting the needle in, the muscle spasms a little and gets very uncomfortable - I pull it back out and find another spot (um usually a delt :-). I think the soreness a lot of folks get is because it puts pressure on the nerves around the area of injection.

Fuck, why do I keep going back to quads anyway???

Thanks for the input guys. I think I will avoid the quads all together from now on. It is still pretty sore & a bit swollen. The swelling is located below the injection site. I was wondering if an allergic reaction was a possibility from Cyp?. Again I dont think it is anything for me to be alarmed about. the swelling is mild & I'm just going to ice it a bit. I'm sure it will just take a few days for it to fade.

I don't go in quads no more.. It's like playing russain rullet w/ the nerves in there.. I wouldn't be too concerned if I was you.. The more you think bout it the mor it'll hurt

Push it in slow if your worried about nerves. If it hits one and your leg starts to jerk around you just pull it out and try again.

Yeah, don't stress it. Sometimes in the right (wrong?) spot soreness can be almost a week. If it lasts longer than 2-weeks AND gets big, red and swollen - almost can't walk sore, then see a doc for abcess/infection. Fixable. What ur describing is common. You're prob just thinking about it too much.

People can react different to different esters in different spots- but I don't think it's an allergic reaction - just tolerance. Of the 3 common esters, usually propionate is least tolerated (though some are just fine), enanthate next, cyp a distant third. Usually most folks can avoid this by using glutes. Quads worst, delts can be sore, but not like quads.

If u were allergic you'd definitely know it - it wouldn't be localized... You'd be dealing with swelling/redness all over.

I iced it a couple of times yesterday. It still felt real sore & swollen. Last night was legs night at the gym. I forced myself thru it. The only thing I changed was I did the bike for my cardio instead of the treadmill. I stretched the quad out  , which hurt like a bitch. Made it thru the leg workout & feels awhole lot better this morning. So I'm gtg :biggthump

Thanks for all the replies

I'll never pin the quad again sonofa that hurt

Maybe you hit a nerve? I started my cycle on Sunday and had my wife pin my glute and went in like butter... later on in the day it became a little sore and the next day it was pretty shitty. I had a welt on the site and its a little better today. I'm using test e so maybe it could be that.

Sorry, not threadjacking just throwing in my .2 cents.

About injecting in the delts...

I lost a good bit of muscle after being off TRT... I'm talking 20 pounds.

So I'm basically a skinny guy now with not much muscle mass and I don't have very muscular delts.

Do you still think it's ok to rotate in delts?

I just feel like with the same needle I use to inject in my glutes I wouldn't know how deep to go in to my bony delts.

Also, since I don't have very muscular delts, would the T injection be less effective since there's less muscle mass to absorb the medicine?

where did you pin the cheek?

i have a nurse that pins my cheek from the weirdest spot:

from the outer right side just below the hip bone, weird as even in the military the went from the inner part towards the butt crack,

The way the nurse pins you is probaly the correct way. I used Spotinjectionsdotcom and used their guide. My wife injected me exactly as the pictures showed us wih a 23g 1/2 in needle.. Right now I have a like a ball where the inject site is but there is no redness, just tender. Maybe the needle didn't go in far enough. Am I doing something wrong? Lol

I always us 1 to 1.5" pins in a 25g

Pin your balls, just stick it right in them. Better absorption...

Really...

Kidding...

Yea, I would say 1/2" pin to the butt a bit too small. I think most peeps use 1 1/2" for the cheeks. Gotta get thru to the muscle.
