Just got back from the gym was chest day, warmed up on the pec deck for a couple sets and started on the flat bench at warm up set of 185.
1st working set 225 for 6
2nd working set 245 for 5 the 6th was assisted.
As I was racking it I think i might have tweaked something in my shoulder.A couple sec after my set I noticed a pain in my shoulder not really the delt more of something inside like the rotator cuff.I immediately cut the work out short and tryed to strech it.

Has anybody had this happen to them? Its odd bc the shoulders are not primary when working of the flat bench. This is ehy I am assuming it happend when I was racking the weight or lifting off.

Took a few Ibeprophen and rest it...any tips any body else have.

Drew, the delts play alot more into the equation than you may think brother.

Lemme ask, did you shift your weight around or anything unusual you can remember while doing that last set? The littlest movement out of form for me and I can tweak the rotator cuff, cuz you do get back into the mix as well when you bench.

When I tore a muscle in my rotator cuff it was because one of the muscles in it was underdeveloped and benching combined with pitching caused it to tear.

I have seen a lot of people hurt themselves benching because of shoulder problems(usually a weakness in them).

Hope everything heals and is fine.

No...I dont think so I try to be conscious of form. But its possible as that last half rep was assisted to put the weight on the rack.

may be an answer. You'll know when you warm up next week. I would take it easy for a bit though.

Hey thanks for the input guys,it feels a little better now after the advil.I hope its is fine and nothing serious, like RJ said Ill know next time I warm up...I might take a few days off depends how i feel tomorrow.

And I havent had any problems with the rotator cuff on the right arm and I pitch all through little league and Babe Ruth sometimes for hole games....but you could be right barnzy bc this is my left arm and it might not be developed.
Thanks for the well wishes bro

Today the shoulder is really no better...I can really feel it when my arm is strait 90 degrees.
Like the pain is most when for instants if I was on a bench holding a BB at the lowest part the bar touching my chest.
When the shoulder is stretched like that I can really feel it.

sounds like you may have just tweaked something back there. You won't like it, but take some time off. Last thing you wanna do is fuck it up worse.

yea thats what I was thinking....i have full range of movement but there is a little pain.
Ironic I just got certified today in sports injury and was talking with the teacher/ems and thats what he suggested also...minor hyper extension.
