I posted similar post weeks ago with very little answers , figured I'd try again maybe someone will have some insight .. I recently had open distal clavical resectionon my right shoulder, basically they cut 1/2 inch off collar bone . Had cortisone injections for 5 years , each time I went it got less helpful. Ended up physically not being able to bench at all do to pain.. My question is has anyone had or know someone who has had this surgery? How long before back in the gym at 100%? Rehabbing it now at home and in physical therapy, full range of motion back, still painful but getting better daily.. Icing multiple times a day .. Any supplements suggested to help recovery? Thanx for any onfo

i cant help too much man but id say take some calcium if u have it for the bones and strength , also protein will help build and repair muscle and bosy tissues as well as a good overall diet and mutilvitamin would all be good to support optimal health = recovery

I've been reading a lot of really good things about TB500 (peptide) for this kind of situation. I'm debating on giving that a try with IGF to see if I can't get back to doing more leg work in the gym with two blown knees. I advise checking it out and see what you think!

My .02c :)

Just my opinion but 4 weeks is not that much time for a surgery like this. Give it a little more time bro. Is it just on presses that cause you pain? How is rotation of the shoulder? Perhaps some very lite cable flys to work chest. Other than that idk just take it easy or it will never get better

Before surgery it hurt for any style press, dips, military press.. Pretty much effected 50% of exersizes in one way or another... Not in gym at all as of now bc I don't wanna re injure it before fully healed.. Physical therapy consist of stretching / rotation for range of motion and some exersizes w very light straps.. As far as ragged of motion, is prettying 100% now. Was hoping to hear from experience how long before back to. Real training.. I've researched it and have seen as lite as a month and others say took them a year . I can't imagine it being much longer than 2 months..

thanks.. Ill research tb500 .

I am gonna follow you on this one bro. I was diagnosed with this shit today. Had been experiencing pain in the AC joint since December and it started to get really painful recently. My doc is suggesting and we have scheduled a cortisone injection first to see if it will settle.

He told me it was expensive time wise to have the surgery as it takes up to 3-4 months before you will feel like you want and can you 100% again. He also told me it was just 1 or 2mm that they shave off one end of the clavicle bone not half an inch!

I am gonna be resting it though carefully even though the pain might stop with the injection in hopes it will heal.

How was your routine when you where getting the shots done?

BTW I heard Cissus might help with bones and joints so you might try that out. I just gotta tub of that to use myself.

only you know how your shoulder feels and is progressing. i know shoulders are nothing to rush back into though bro. i've had a partial rotator cuff tear in my left shoulder in the past and didn't start light lifting until 4 months into physical therapy and wasn't full strength for a good 7-8 months. only sure way to be positive its healed fully is rest and don't rush it

Any update bro? How you feeling. Decided to go for this surgery myself instead of wasting time on injections that are only gonna mask the issue for a short time.

Just over 5 weeks post surgery, still in physical therapy.., have full range of motion back. Mild pain in shoulder area.. Been in the gym doing just legs and cardio. Hoping to get back into it within the next month if all goes well.. My advise would be to try the injections before u choose surgery.. My first injection made my shoulder feel great within 1 day and lasted a year.. After that they did less and less to help me.. Worst case , u have the injection and realize it doesn't help. Then choose the option of surgery

How are you doing now bud?

What are you like 2 months away from surgery?

I am looking into TB500 too, and I am having my surgery on the 17th April. Cortisone just gave my minor relive so I am jumping on the surgery as soon as I can to save time.
