Is abs really boring?

Hello guys! I was looking at some BB champions and was wondering...are abs really difficult and boring to train?
I mean, look at Arnold and Boyer for example.
They have great physiques...but how about their abs?
Gets me wondering why they only have 4 abs....seriously, right?
Or does that depend on your body structure?
Usually, some lack lower abs...is it really difficult?

Thanks

If you display 4 abs or 8 its all genetic, its a single wall that cannot be changed.

I do one set, all out, and nothing more.

I used to wonder the same thing years ago. When I diet down and work abs alot I only have a 4 pack. I would think if I trained them really hard I could get that extra 2 pack and finally have my 6 pack. Then I realized I simply was born with a 4 pack and nothing is going to change that. You can only work with what you got.

Abs are boring mainly because they seem to respond only to high rep exercises--tedious but worth the result.

depends on your goals i hit abs 2 times per week to build a strong core and keep my reps in the 8-10 range. which requires adding weight once that rep range is exceeded..

Abs are as any muscle, and will respond well to heavy weights.
I like training abs, dont have any "hates" acutally. Well when i damaged my shoulder it sucked to train pecs, but it got better :)

Thats weird. I though everyone could have 6 abs?

Arnold has 4 right? Im pretty sure he does.

Abs are the only muscle group I hate working

I haven't done abs in almost 2 months......keep telling myself I'm gonna start and then find a reason not to. Tomorrow is the day though, going back to doin abs at least 2x/week, especially since I'm trying to lose some fat right now and I'd like them to show when (IF) I get low enough.

I wasnt challenging that at all. Just agreed with responses to the original post.

I think deadlifts and squats hit my abs pretty hard, hard enough I don't need to worry about working them :)....of course I can't see them yet but that's besides the point lol.
