i have been on Ativan approx. 2.25mgs a day for anxiety..been tapering off (not easy to do)

my muscles feel like hell all day..i am wondering is it just me ...do other guys train on Ativan without any issues...thx

I took ativan years ago, while running gear and also not on gear. Id take 1mg as needed, some days id take more some day less some days none, the trick is, is to take it when you feel anxiety coming on, and i dont give a fuck if any doctor tells you otherwise, theyre wrong. The pharmaceutical industry takes pride in taking money from you so theyre gonna provide you medication to mask issues, not fix them. Ativan is a benzo and can be addictive depending on the person, so use it wisely.....ONLY WHEN YOU NEED IT. I never had a problem with it, my body felt great on it, and it helped me through some issues and i was able to just stop takin it on my own one day. Just said to myself i dont need it anymore and i was done. My advice to you would be to cut you dose by .5 per week until your off, thatd be the easiest way IMO.

Yes. Actually was on 4mgs in January
And have cut it down
Really nobody here takes Ativan regularly?
Would like to know if can train normal
On it or too much of a muscle relaxer???

Thats crazy man, he shouldnt have put you on that much, unless there are sever anxiety issues to the point you cannot function properly. Ya you can still train man, just hit er hard, having a good, regular training schedule along with a good diet might actually help with symptoms of anxiety.

I'm on 1.6mg per day and 18.5mg of Zopiclone. Here's my story:

Had severe anxiety attacks (Probably my fault. Not use to the hot humid Japanese summers. Got dehydrated but scared the crap out of me.) Anyways, I was (Am) on a cocktail of meds. One of those is Lorazepam (Ativan in Western countries).

Years later and several ups and downs, I'm now on 1.6mg daily along with Zopiclone still at 18.5mg. Zopiclone is a tranquilizer. Because of the half-life of the drugs, you can go through withdrawal before your next dose. People looking to taper off the meds usually break up their doses so that you get a steady level throughout the day. If you're on 4mg daily (Quite high) I would try taking 2mg midday and 2mg before bed. Like TRT everyone is different and reacts differently. Once you've got that under control for more than a few weeks you can try and remove about 10 percent of the total dose (You may have to titrate with water or milk.) Tapering more than that can lead to more anxiety and may not happen THAT day but weeks later. Which is why after you taper down, you stabilize for a few weeks before your next taper.

Once you've gotten to a point where your Ativan is low enough, I would consider crossing over to Valium. You can get valium in smaller dosages and it's easier to taper (No water titration etc). Valium also has a longer half-life and you'll feel less anxiety during and after the crossover. From there, you still taper at the same amounts. That's how you get yourself off the meds (If you that's what you want to do).

If you need the meds, then I would look into crossing over into something longer lasting and keeping anxiety at bay with more regular dosing. However, that's something you'll have to talk to your doctor with. I can provide more experience concerning this is you like, just PM me.

That all said, I've taken 0.4mg Ativan and 3.5mg Zopiclone just an hour before getting into the gym and I'm fine. I don't feel it. It just stabilizes me. Sometimes I forget and take it after the gym. While not great for my health, it certainly does kick in harder after and I feel more relaxed going home. Sometimes I forget altogether and I end up with headaches until I get my dose in.

So...you can workout. Depending on how your body reacts to these drugs you can get in and get a good workout without any need to feel like you're 'too relaxed'. I do HIIT 3 times a week and it's brutal. If you go in on leg day and you crawl out, you know you're hitting it hard.

(Please, take everything I just wrote with a grain of salt. This is based on my own personal experience. With a doctor prescribing 4mg Ativan, I'd look at maybe getting a different doc. Sounds like a pill pusher.)

If you're looking to get off the Ativan or cut it down then I highly recommend you switch to Valium first. Valium has a much longer half life and is easier to taper down from. Recommend you google "Ashton Manual Taper Method" and follow that...

How do you find your anxiety since starting TRT? Were you on ativan before you started?

Are you asking me? I'm just gonna assume you are, sorry if you're not...

My first protocol on TRT was not a good one. I was on HCG 5000iu 1x week and 125mg test 2x a month. Initially I felt great but slowly it turned into more anxiety. I had no idea about elevated E2 levels.

Since being able to bring my HCG to 500iu x2 a week and 65mg test 2x a week, and also adding Adex 0.25mg x2 a week my anxiety dropped dramatically, as did my E2 levels. I wish this is how I had started TRT. I may not have had the current meds for anxiety in my body to begin with.

I had nasty anxiety when dosing HCG EOD in low doses and doing E7D shots of T. I was also on adex eod.
I think i Crashed E2 at first when I went on.
Changed my protocol to what syn did and it made a diff.
