is unreconsituted Hcg still good after a year?

getting ready for another cycle and reviewing my supplies. I have 2 vials of hcg I purchased from Pinnacle that I have not used and am wondering if they were still good. Each contains a 5000 iu tab yet to be reconstituted with the use of bac water.

Probably not now. hCG degrades by about 10% per month. Chuck it out and get a new vial.

Sorry, just realised you said UNreconstituted. Yes, more than likely it is fine.

If your really worried you could buy a bunch of pregnancy tests and find out what concentration they detect hCG at (most are about 25 miu/ml.)

So if you reconstitute it with 10ml bac water your vial will be at a concentration of 500iu/ml. Get 200ml of tap water in a bowl and add 5 iu of hCG to it (or 0.01ml or 1unit on a slin pin.) This will give you a concentration of about 25 miu/ml. Put your pregnancy test in it and see if she comes back pregnant. If it does, good to go. If not, try playing around with slightly higher concentrations - it can be difficult to get the concentration exactly right so allow for mistakes.
