Joint health for the older Gents

Koolcat

Aint my first rodeo
I've noticed my joints ain't like they used to be and need special attention to keep injury away. I'm only 40 but I've rolled my odometer over a few times lol Anybody have any luck with using MSM or glucosamine/chondroitin or anything else OTC? I'm looking to keep them healthy so hopefully they'll hold up many years down the road

I have arthritis in my back tendonitis and RC issues in my right shoulder. I have found fishoils work wonders as anti-inflammatories. I also run collagen, viotamin C and Gluc/Chon/MSM. On particularly bad days I use boswellia to reduce swelling. Hope that helps some.

Def worth a try. Prob with fish oils is they don't set well and I burp em up all day. I have a AC2 tear in my r shoulder thats hell with flat bench and some r elbow pain. May try the boswellia intsead of the ibuprofen to keep it in check. Getting old sucks

Try enteric coated fish oil or deodorized fish oil. Personally I use Salmon oil.

I have researched it but I wanted to hear from someone that actually uses it and has good results. I'm surprised your the only one that chimed in. Guess we're the oldest guys here lol

You don't make collagen like you used to, that is the issue. Those OTC items may help a bit but won't do a reversal of what is happening within the body. Thankfully you are on the right board to look at alternatives, if you ever get to that decision.

I used to be big fan of glucosamine. But I always had the powder and the stuff was horrible. After reading some reviews of Forged Joint Repair, I decided to try it.

GLAD I DID!

I'm a big fan of the forged joint repair and skeletal balm combo!! especially after you use both for a period of time as it just gets better and seems to help more!

Skeletal Balm is pritty good stuff.
its a cream.
good stuff.

I echo what other's have said about the Forged Joint Repair combine with the Skeletal Balm. I have been using it consistenly for about 4 months and I love it!

I use Natural Factors RxOmega-3 Factors Pharm grade (fish oils with very high EPA/DHA concentrations), Osteo Bi-Flex Advanced Triple Strength, Forged Joint Repair, and Skeletal Balm.

Skeletal Balm is by far the best thing ever. That stuff just works so well to help me have pain free workouts. I rub the balm on pre workout and wrap my elbows, or use neoprene sleeves on my knees. When I get in the gym I warmup for a few minutes on the bike to get the heart pumpin, then rotate my joints (shoulders, elbows, wrists) at least 20 times in each direction, and make sure I do enough (but not too much) warmup sets.

I find all of this, and keeping my nutrition and hydration up to par with my workout demands helped reduce my injuries immensely.

Now I get hurt only when doing things like playing with my son in one of those bouncy castle things, lol!
