Donated blood today. 2 weeks into TRT...
Before donation:
Hemoglobin: 148
HCT: 43%
....
Took an aspirin earlier today....eat a good breakfast.
Was done in 6.30 minutes...not bad!!
No reactions...just kept confident...maybe it's the T....lol
Saw a young girl have a faint spell right in front of me...
Never fazed me....
I can go back in 2 months she said...but my HCT is probably 40% now after this donation....
Last time I was on TRT....after 10 months I only got to 165 for Hemoglobin and HCT was 48%...I never donated though...
I will try and keep my HCT in the 46% range....
Before my first donation in June I was at 45% HCT....that was four months ago...it only recovered to 43%...
lol...I had Low T all this time as well.

Only problem is when a guy is on TRT...he's going to need to donate blood often....but past the age of 65 or so I heard you are not allowed.
What do older guys who are on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) do then?

Wow you donated blood today. Do you want a cookie now? Just messing you brother. If you can keep you crit under 50 while on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) you're golden. Keep at it. You just killed two birds with one stone. You just helped out 3 strangers and you're keeping your health in check.

You're right!
Is it a challenge for testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) guys to keep HCT under 50% ?
I was on 160 mg/week....after 10 months Crit was 48%...
But I never donated back then.
Just got into it the last few months while off TRT...
This is a life extension tool or us testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) guys...no one mentions it though.
Only my Family Doc gave me the heads up of Hematocrit becoming elevated while on TRT...
The testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) doc never mentioned nothing....I guess he's the type that waits for it to reach it's max. Ridiculous.
Nip things in the bud is my philosophy and belief in life.
Wait around for HCT to get to 50 % is careless and dangerous. More pressure on your heart to move that viscous blood.

Forgot to mention this board was an important heads up for me on the importance of donating blood .

Shit, the three guys that get his blood are unwillingly going to come here and start random posts and answer their own questions in them.

Love ya Apollon, had to be done!! ;-)

Feel tired today...maybe my HCT was not in need of it yet?
Maybe too soon?
Feel low libido today too...
Do we lose T from our blood after donation ?
I'm 2 weeks in my TRT....
Was feeling good for last couple weeks....til today...feel like laying down.
Is this normal?

Sometimes being tired just means you are tired. There doesn't have to be a hormonal cause behind it.

Grats Apollon, but for future reference, hemoglobin is typically from 13 to 20. 14.8 was likely your starting Hb, NOT 148. I just about spit out my drink when I saw that number as that would be like having jelly for blood. :p (444% HCT) Yes, it's normal to feel a little woozy if you don't actually eat or drink enough after donating. Have to replace that lost volume somehow! ;)

Yes 14.8. Up here they measure in G/L
Range: 135-180 G/L for Hemo depending where you go.
Felt fine after donating.
Ate lots today feel better...took liquid iron too.

My bad. I keep forgetting you're in Canada; where you guys actually use the SI system properly like the rest of the world.

I have a mass of 10.59006 slug by the way. Yeah, go imperial system! :spin:
