I've been taking Kickboxing for about 6 years now, and I'll tell you if you want geat looking calves that is the place to go!! I boast 19 1/2 calves due to my kickboxing intruction. But, if you don't think you got the time to go to a class, or you just not into martial arts here's a couple of exercises that will cut, and bulk your calves. Because there is nothing more painful to see that someone with a great upper body, chicklegs!!
Over the lines:
Pick a line on the floor in the gym, or at home. Stand to one side of the line. Now jump over the line... Easy right!?! Here's the catch! You can not jump with you knees (no bending and the knee), also the only part of your body that should be crossing the line is your lower half. Keep your torso centered on the line, and jump side to side using only your calve muscles. Do 100, 4 counts. YOU WILL FEEL THIS!! Add a couple of 30+ pound waights in your hands add you'll be on the raod to tree trunks in no time!!
Four Square:
Pretty much the same as OTL, but with your torso centered on two intersecting lines. Jump counter clockwise, cloockwise, front left-front right-back left-back right....
The key with this exercise is to keep centered and remember to jump only using you calve muscle.
