Help! I totaly lag Ass for the rest of the day after my workout. Dose anyone have any suggestion to help with energy levels?

Typical workout

20min Carido

chest
Incline 3x 8to10 reps

Bench 3x 8to10 reps

Dips 3x 12 to 15 reps

Declin hammer strenth 3x 8 to 10 reps

the rest of the day fell like a dodo butt.:bootyshak

How is your energy during the workout?

Are you progressing in the weigths your lifting?

On a side note, i would add that cardio to the end.

Well dodo butt.....

what is your post-workout nutrition like? That could be the problem. You have to get fuel in your muscles and body after you've run out.

Like a car....once it runs out of gas it needs to be filled up once again.

Make sure you are eating properly right after and the rest of the day to keep up your energy.

I have the same problem post training I am totally fvcked. But for me this is a good thing as I believe I have stimulated growth + I love the feeling of being so tired I don't give a shlt.

What I have found helps is power napping sleeping for 30 mins. Scientific experiments and anecdotal evidence suggest that an average power-nap duration of around 20-30 minutes is most effective "NASA Nap". 2005-06-03. NASA Naps.

I believe power napping also stimulates the repair process as many hormonal anabolic processes are stimulated through sleep.

This is great advice! 2 questions....

How long does it take to fall asleep and don't you find you are "groggy" after you wake up?

I am so tired post workout that for me its almost instant. I also do my training at midday as studies into cardian rhythms have shown that post lunch is the best time for power naps. Slightly groggy post sleep but this is transient then feel much better.

Thank you. I may try it!

Post workout I drink a protine shake blended with a banana. sleep always sounds good.

when I wake up I am grogy and i never seem to get enough sleep. I drinkk a monster energy drink in the morning to get my A$$ going. Trying to eat clean but I am far from perfect.

workout in the morning protien shake lunch is tuna 1 slice of bread and maybe a pickle small snack between lunch and dinner and then what ever for dinner Sometimes chicken and veggies sometimes tacos somtimes steak.

When I dropped caffeine out of my diet (other than my prework out drink), I had much more energy throughout the day. Also, I would do cardio at the end of your workout, not before.

You are lacking essential fats. And of course your diet leaves alot to be desired.

Start taking fish oils and evening primrose oils. Nuts, avocados, nut butters, olive oils.....get those in the diet.

It seems like you aren't eating that many calories for energy.

An energy drink for breakfast won't fuel you. You need to eat cleaner foods, more foods, and more often to keep the tank running.

Miss Muscle keep this goin, i preach the same shit on here but everyone seems to brush it off. It's good to see another Mod back in the mix on the most important section of this site.

She is 100% correct. Red bulls dont give you the same energy or stamina as good quality whole live foods. I might not always practice what I preach but id like to think i know a little about nutrition for althelets. I was taught by the best and he was on this board HuskyGuy and Miss Muscle is telling you the same thing except she speaks morei of good fats which so many overlook. I used to feel like shit all day everyday and now i get in olive oil, flax, fish oil and nuts and avacadoes daily it's helped me significantly. However nothing has helped as much as superfoods though i got SC to thank for that one.
