I have been training for a little over four yrs now I have never been able to get my squats much over my bench press. I can bench 265x8 but only squat 275x8. I squat with a wide stance at parallel. I want to increase my strength and my legs (26"). My leg routine looks like this:
Squats 4x12,10,8,6
leg press same
lying leg curls 3x8-10
leg extensions 3x10 superset
w/ seated leg curls 3x10
Any ideas?

use lower reps sets of 5 will build strength and power..i also like front squats as well..i think a better routine would be something similar to what im using now..
squat 5x5
front squat 2x8
power squat machine 2x6 (face in)
sldl 3x8
sometimes ill do seated leg curls as well..the progressive nature of 5x5 will get you squatting more weight and build strength

I have a few problems. I don't have a power squat machine is their any substitute? Should I do sldl instead of doing conventional deadlifts on back day. I can barely do regular deadlifts with back for three sets. My lower back gets so pumped up that i can barely walk out the gym with a belt on. If i take it off i get extreme pain but it subsides in 10 minutes or so. Also with the 5x5 should I use a weight that i can do for 12 reps or so then and by the 4th or 5th set 5 reps with it will be failure.

dont worry about the power squat machine..stick with the leg press..i would rather see you do regualr deads than jsut sldl..you can try sldl on leg day but you dont need to kill yourself try for 8 reps maybe something like 50% of your best deadlift..if you feel its too much fine you dont have to do em..if your starting your cycle i would be more aggresive and start 5x5 with 75-80% of your 1RM..if your planning your cycle more for the winter i would start lower and youll progress nicely by the time your ready to hit the gear..if you dont know your 1 rm take a weight that you can do for 10 and start from there..once that gear kicks in dont be afraid to bump that weight up..
