Lifting belts....

Are there any kinds that are more useful tahn others? In my little podunk-esque town here there isnt much in the way of getting any good equipment, im not going to trust one of those 10 dollar velcro belts that you can get at MC sports to protect and save my back.... is there a place online i could order one from? my gym doesnt offer any either... so im stuck between a rock and mc sports :(

would it be ok, like for the first 3 sets not to use the belt, and then for the last 2 sets to use the belt? i have found that as i go through my deadlifts and squats towards the later reps and sets i try and use my lower back more... so would 3 off 2 on be ok?

5 sets of deads? i usually do 1 or 2 at the most. cut it back bro and dont use the belt til you start pullin over 6 (if you already arent)

ive started the 5x5 routine... that along with reverse grip pulldowns, and bent over barbell rows is all that i do for back... is that still to much?

Bandaids are for babies, crutches are for the weak. Unless you are looking to "cheat" an extra 50 pounds forget the belt.

well then! we know how mudge feels about belts :) im curious... does anyone else feel the same way? ive never used one before, except once i borrowed one sometime last year and squatted and just did some of the best squate of my life :)

im just curious guys :)

I don't see a problem if you wear a belt on your heavy lifts, as long as you train the abs and obliqus hard beside.

Of course you had some of your best squats, you removed your weak point. Its like using straps on deads "wow I sure can hold a lot of weight!"

I gave up my belt almost 2 years ago. I want real strength, not gym strength, I lift RAW.

That's pretty cool. You should try to make your way over for a seminar sometime. My buddy Tim Harold lifts at the Westside gym and I have not yet had the honor of training there. I think it would be awesome.

Your English sounds fine to me man.
