truck said:it has nothing to do with tension it has to do with muscle recruitement. You use more muscles and gain more muscle control when you go slow because it is a controlled lift form top to bottom. Remember guys its a tool not a whole school of lifting.

If you ever look at a study on tia chi you'll see that slow fluid movement is essential to being balanced, as they work to becoming quicker explosive movements. I believe that i the long run it helps more than not doing it. i could be talking out of my butt but I don't care so much, I do what works for me and from the people who are around me it works for most of them too.
