Looking for a good first time stack

Hi, my name is Seth, I am 36 years old and a total noob to lifting.

About 2 years ago I decided it was time for a life style change. I was 270 pounds and unhealthy. I started working out at the gym and started eating better, I also started visiting a Dr. and having blood work done every 3 months. I have been lurking in the forums on this site and many other sights for some time. I believe I have a good diet down (lots of chicken, rice, vegies and so on). I also have a good workout routine (I hired a coach when I first started) but I have hit a plateau.

I stopped at 230 pounds and cannot get past it. No matter how many hrs I put in (2+ hrs a day 5 days a week) there is no change. I tried eating less, eating more, lifting heavy, high reps..... no change. No change in the mirror, scale, or fat calipers (the coach dose it for me every 3 months). As of right now I am about 24% body fat.

What I am taking daily
multivitamin
B12
D3
pain pills (non narcotic for permanent metacarpal dislocation, this makes using free weights very hard)
Wellbutrin (I have borderline low T but my Dr wants nothing to do with it)

I am looking for some type of "magic pill" to help me push past this bump in the road.
My end goal is to be about 15% BF and for now I am not so concerned with muscle size, I will work on that after I reach my goal BF.

So, that said.... anyone have any suggestions? I want to keep the cost low for the first cycle.

Thanks in advance, Seth

No such thing as a magic pill. Your diet probably ain't exactly dialed in yet. If your diet was in check, that alone would drop the lbs.

I know that a magic pill dose not exist I was trying to be sarcastic that's why it was in quotes...

As for my diet that is hard to say, I eat meals that the nutritionist at my gym designed for me. I know that they have helped lots but I feel stuck.

Here is a before (270lb) and close to current (230lb) photo. I look the same today as I did in that photo. (I know, I am a sexy bitch)

I spent about 10hrs researching different things last night and I ended up ordering T3 and Helios, I am going to run the Helios alone to start.

Your body needs rest. The only stack you should do is a stack of books

What??? Read a book??? The hell you say. :insane2:

I was forced to take a month off in April when I shattered my hand and had to have surgery.. I know myself well enough that if I take time off that is not forced I will fall off the wagon.

I am actually meeting with my Dr. in the morning and get a B12 shot (her idea), I will give that some time than re evaluate.

Wait. I just read you are getting a b12 shot. You are in luck that is the magic injection.
I'm done with this nonsense

Thanks for the reply's, I always forget that sarcasm dose not translate well on the internet. I do honestly (no sarcasm) appreciate the advice and I will take it to heart. I am just feeling a little down and need a pat on the back.

its likely that your body is burnt out from the cut..

how many calories did your gym nutritionist put you on?

I am glad you chimed in 3J, I have read quite a few of your post's.

Well, first let me say that I am a type 2 diabetic and mostly veterinarian. To start off with I was dropping buckets of weight very fast, I think mostly water weight. Then I got sick and they found a tumor in my gallbladder and on my liver so I had to have that removed. At that point I had been eating about 1500 cals. a day (I try to stay around 40/40/20) spread out in small meals. I went from 270 in January to 219 by April. Then in April I shattered my hand and had to have pins and stuff put in so that put me out for about a month. By the time I could get back into the gym without changing my diet I went back up to 250. As of today I am back down to 234 but have been stuck here for a little over a month.

This has been a huge lifestyle change for me and it was going so well then poop hit the fan... I am just a little depressed and looking for someone to talk to about it.

Here are some photos for you.
This was me (front row with no shirt, no I was not smoking.. I was holding it for her) at 18.

This was me the summer of 2013 (in the brown shirt). This was also at my biggest, I was 35

This is me in May of this year just after having my hand put back together, I was 219

This is a photo of the large tumor on my liver. (how many people have a photo of there own liver?)

I am somewhat limited on funds as I am self employed and just spent $43,000 on my hand and liver. If I had the cash I would send it to you 3J.

i figured as much..

there was absolutely no reason for you to be eating 1500 calories... yes you lost weight but you did it in the worst of ways.. which is why your weight bounced back and will continue to bounce back so bad..

your metabolism slowed to nothing.. and your leptin levels are in the gutter..

in other words.. you need what i like to call a "********* restart".. and you need to lose weight slower...

most my clients are surprised at how much i actually have them eat even on a cut.. initially its overwhelming.. then their metabolism catches up and they are hungry every 2 hours..

I know you charge for this type of info but what would you say is more realistic? My Dr. estimates me at 15% BF at 185lb. At this point I am not as concerned with keeping muscle size as cutting fat. Is 40/40/20 realistic? Carbs are tricky for me as I need to avoid them to keep my A1c low.

have you ever done carb cycling??

with your current bodyfat and weight loss whats your fasting glucose and a1c?? what medication are you taking?

You don't need a pat on the back you need to look at the good things. There are people starving even in the ol land of the obese

people forget that its not just about carbs for diabetics.. i have had type 2 diabetics do wonderfully on my carb cycle.. eating 300g carbs on their high day.. its about total caloric intake..

a1c and fasting glucose has dropped in all my diebetic clients.. many have come off meds completely

I have not done carb cycling, don't know what that is. In Jan. of last year my A1c was 13.4 and average GL was 356. I was put on 2 kinds of insulin but I am self employed and have no insurance so I decided to fight it via diet, that is when this whole thing started. My last blood test was a month ago and my A1c was 5.8 and my average GL was 120. I have not needed to use ANY type of meds to control my diabetes for more than 9 months now.

This is partly why I am nervous about a diet change. I do NOT want to go back on meds for that. I have worked very hard to get this far in both GL levels and weight loss. I think the hardest part is that my wife and child refuse to change there diet so I smell and see there food every day, I do all my own shopping and cooking.

This test was taken on 1/9/13

do you have an iron deficiency?? when was the last time you did a cbc and ********* panel?? can you post that up??

u wanna hear something funny.. my a1c is also 5.8.. my fasting glucose is 80.. my a1c shows a false positive due to low iron thanks to celiacs disease..

Is there a way to turn off the filter that replaces words with ***?

This is what I see. "cbc and ********* panel??"

This is my last test in it complete form. The numbers in the () are what my levels were on the last test (6 months ago).

For this test she had me stop all supplements for 3 months prier including vitamins and fish oil.

You will notice a couple numbers are WAY out of wack and that is mostly do to the tumor on my liver, it is non malignant and the liver functions just fine other that it dumping extra protein into my blood so they decided to let it be. The did take my gallbladder though. Now if I eat any kind of fatty food I spend the rest of the day on the toilet.
