I am looking for a good programmer so we can create some applications for Android phones. Like the roid calculator and such. Log books etc. If anybody interested let me know. This is kind of odd I know.

You might try Guru (dot com) - Rent a Coder - or Elance.
Whats nice about these companies is you can review their portfolio's and see other peoples feedback.
As an example - I had someone design my logo for me ... and what happens if you "just" stop into a local designer - you might get someone who is just ok - you don't really have 10-30 people in front of you to compare.
So in my case I chose someone in Romania - I'm in Florida - and he could have been right down the street and I would have never known the difference.
He had all 5 star ratings and countless testimonials - the contrast between the great and not so good was huge.
The only downside is your not supporting your local business - but the local people I looked at were several times the price with half the quality.
I'm not sure if all three work the same - what usually happens is you post your job and then programers send you their estimated price along with samples of their work - sit back and review their work as they come in and choose one - if you see a good fit.
