like the title says,,, i'm looking to get on that stage. i'm looking for a comp near the NY area in anywhere between 6-12 month time period. where do i look for the comp listings?

i will be posting pics within the month to get opinions on what parts are lagging, don't expect too much i'm 5'7" at 185-187 lbs at around 11-13% ... so i'm sure that i will be stepping on stage somewhere around high 160's ,,,, maybe low 170's .... but i have been told by many at the gym to just start competeing now and not to wait.

If you were to step on stage right now at 11-13% body fat then you're just setting yourself up for failure. If you're gonna do something, do it right.

I don't think he meant he was going on stage at 13%.

good luck again, post up some pics so we can see your progress

Vennom,,,, i realize that, thanks though,,, i'm in a bulking stage and i'm looking to step on stage in about 10-12 months,, that should be plenty of time to cut to the required 5-6%. top 4 abs visible in the morning,,,and weighing in at 186lbs. lil stats of me,,

arms 16.5 cold
chest 44 cold
thighs 24 cold
claves 14.5 cold (UGH!!) i know i know,, i REALLY do work on them though!
4-arms 14 cold, sad that my 4-arms are almost the size of my calves...

i'll get pics as soon as i can get my boy to get over his homofobe ! thanks fellas.

what kinda calf work you doing?? cause your calves are seriusely lagging..what is it..i think their suppose to be the same size as your bi's if i'm not wrong...

Ah my bad. I missunderstood then b/c your last line in the original post said they say you should just start competing now. I took that as competing now, not getting ready for the process of dieting down, etc etc.

Good luck, post pics and keep us updated.

yes ,, calves and arms are "suppose" to be about the same. i do standing calf raises and seated calf raises, as well as i do 30-40mins on an inclined treadmill walking. i would love to hear any suggestions to get them to wake the F up.... thanks

give you a better idea,, i do calves 2-3 times a week with resistance training i.e. standing and seated raises. i do 4 sets of each and 15-10reps.

Now Im in NO position to preach about calf work, but there are some good approaches out there. Look up some of DC's principles on calf work, as well as "cooked calves" by whats-his-face - ask E, we used to do them that way.

thanks bro, i'm gong to do this ,,, i found a comp in oct 06'.... personally knowing your build ,, i think that you should do it too ! .... your much bigger than i. we do all this work... lets be constructive with it. i tried to get E to do it with me, he said no, and i respect that, maybe someday he will. i'll be in touch.... hows school going anyhow?

again.....i'd go higher reps ...like 15-20 range...i use the smaith mach..get a block of wood or one of the fancy calf stands..do your standing calf raises in there..or try seated DB calf raises, db's on thigh's and toes on a 25 lb'er, kicks a lot of stabilizers too..those are two the exercises i do....and they work quit well, for "ME"...

bro, you got 20 lbs on me ,,, so i'll give it a shot fo sho ! i'll try it tom. thanks.

i will be the first one to admit that getting on stage and doing a routine scares the hell out of me. im such a white boy, i cant dance and dont have the time to pay to have someone teach me. also, i know this means nothing but, i look at some of the guys that compete at my weight and i would get blown away. i am assuming some of them have many years of hgh under there belt and more years of training. i also would like to say that if i had the money i would compete in a heartbeat, but i think being only 21 and just starting to work hurts me in the sence that i dont even have any real bills yet and im just getting by u know. so basicly other than me being a big pussy, i dont have the money to compete right now, but i am going to keep it in the back of my head everyday i go to the gym.

Calves are mostly genetic. You can get the most out of what you were born with but most people have the ability to have good calves or they don't. Sounds like you might not have the genetics. Ever thought about implants?

dude ur makeing me laugh. im sure just because his calves are lacking he is going to go get implants.

again, you gonna work with someone for contest prep? Either nutrition, training or both?

yes, i'm hiring some trainers that work at my gym, i was thinking about using tanner ,, and still might. but this one guy that works at my gym trains routines and posing,,, so i know that he would be good for that part. also going to have them work my nutrition/ cardio and possibly lifting.... 100% am going to need help getting this together. my first consult is on Monday to asses my body and situation.

I just walk around in womens high heals in my room for about an hour. Thats of course when no one else is home and the lights are off.
No, really I do calves at least twice a week with really heavy weight. 10sets usually 25 reps per set.
