Losing fat and gaining muscle at the same time with test.

I just started first test cycle on rats.

38 years young
5'11''
173 lbs
13%body fat

I have read testimony from other people on this forum that said they lost body fat while putting on muscle. Is this always the case with a Test cycle? To simplify things, If i eat 500 calories above maintenance, and work out 4-5 times a week. Is this the formula for shedding fat and putting on Muscle?

All the people that said they have lost fat while putting on muscle. Is this how you did it?

what you eat matters and how you exercise as well, you can bulk and shed fat at the same time if you are eating clean, lean meats and veggies, no snacking after going idle at night

Its mostly in the diet. You can lean out and gain muscle at the same time. Tren is very good for that also, but id wait on that one :)

hahaha,.... Yeah i dont think im ready for tren yet.

I'm a heavy believer in Alan Aragon's dieting methods. Its just that he doesn't really write anything about diets while on gear

He basically says if you just go no more then 500 cal over maintenance then you will gain minimum fat while bulking.

So if i apply his theory to TEST.... does that mean as long as i don't eat over 500 cal over maintenance i might lose a little body fat?

Of course a good work out will be incorporated.

Only 500 cals caloric surplus on test is a waste of cycle in my opinion. And I too think Alon Aragon knows his stuff.

You can do it, I'm living proof. Do some research on Mountaindog diet. If I can find a member photo section I'll post up some before and after shots.

It's not a waste since the smaller caloric surplus with better nutrient partitioning would be in between a recomp and a traditional bulk. A sweet spot for someone like me who has strength gains ahead of mass gains and does not want to balloon up too much too fast.

Aragon's principles still apply here, just not his numbers. Start off with a typical 500calorie surplus. Monitor progress for 2-3wks. If you notice little fat gain or weight gain slowly ramp up calories until yore gaining mass and fat at a rate that is too much for you. There isn't much research done about dieting with anabolics and Alan is natural himself so those are the primary reasons you won't see him talk about AAS much

Yeah but with a higher caloric surplus there will be more muscle and strength gains in the end. But we all got different goals I guess.

That's exactly it brother, different goals! I know mine isnt serious mass like it is for many in here but to each their own. I'd like to stay around ~200lbs with around 10% bf but a serious strength increase at that size. if I wanted all out mass I'd def bump up the calories more. Nothing wrong with either approach, just what you want out of it in the end!

Yeah, My main goal is Muscle gain. I will focus on strength gain once i get to where i want to be physically.

So basically start off at + 500 cals then slowly go up more from there depending on what kind of gains im getting?

I just want to make really sure i don't put on 20 lbs of muscle and 20 lbs of fat.... i rather put on 15 lbs of muscle and 5 lbs of fat...
a little less muscle but a lot less body fat. Hard to find good articles on bulking with AAS

Yes start off mild with a 500 calorie surplus (Alan aragon actually recommends a 10-20% surplus not 500 per se) and adjust as you see fit. Gaining muscle and little fat bump up cals a bit and monitor, not gaining at all bump up cals by ~500, gaining too much weight and fat reduce cals by ~2-300. It's a numbers game. You want more fat or less just manipulate your surplus

I was 275 when I started my cycle, now Im 241..

Ate about 3000 calories a day, did cardio 5 days a week and lifted 6 days a week.

I lost 6 inches and gained a shit load of size.

So yes you can .
