Lots of questions

I found this forum off of a website which was sent to me when i bid for pumping iron on ebay :) Anyways, I have a few questions but first I'll give a little background because after reading all the threads I think you will ask me about myself before you can give me some good answers. I have been going to the gym regularly for the past 7 months. I started with weights 4 times a week but decided I want to lose a lot of fat, so now I'm doing cardio 5 times a week and weights about 3 times. My diet isn't too bad- eggs and cereal for breakfast, yogurt for mid-morning snack, lunch is a turkey sandwich on pita and a salad, afternoon snack/pre or post-workout is usually peanut butter and banana or turkey sandwich, and dinner is salad and chicken. I have lost about 15 lbs of fat in the past 4 months and now I weigh about 130. I'd like to drop another 10 or 15, but seeing as I'm already up to 1 hour of cardio per day, I need a little something extra. I started taking stacker 2's just to speed me up. Can anyone give me some advice as where to go from here?

(ps sorry this was so long!!)

No need to apologize, you were giving great info so we can help you out as much as possible! Have you tried doing your cardio in the morning on an empty stomach?
I think you need more protein in your diet for sure!! For breakfast you should have about 6 egg whites. Instead of your mid morning snack of yogurt put a protein shake in there and same w/post workout have a protein shake instead of the PB and banana.
As far as your carbs go,cut out the breads and pitas and have a yam or brown rice.
Just the change in your diet alone should shock your body and help w/ losing some lbs!

Great advice fitness-girl. I totally agree.:)

One more little tip hun, would be to add some flax oil or Udo's Oil into your diet somewhere. Udo's taste better and has a better profile.
Two tablespoons a day would be ideal. I just usually mix it either in my protein shake or i have it with my cottage cheese. Or if i'm feeling brave, I just shoot it back and chase it down with some grapefruit juice. :D

Fyre what do you think about her cardio/lifting schedule? do you think she needs to do less cardio and more weights?

I would up the weights to four times a week. Are you doing an hour of cardio 5 times a week? That's an awful lot hun.

I was up to an hour of cardio 5 times a week, but then since my boyfriend took from Christmas to New years off, so did I. Now I'm doing either 30 or 45 mins per day and building back up slowly. I only do weights at school 3 times a week
because the gym is so busy no matter when I go. As for the eating, its a little tougher in the cafeteria here :)

Great advice from fitness-girl and Fyre! heed their advice! :)

I agree I would cut back on the cardio as well. no need to build it back up to 60 mins 5x week. Id cut it back to 3x and make them interval style for 25-30 minutes rather. and concentrate alot on lifting, 4 days as suggested would be optimum. is there a better time of the day that you could go when not so busy?

as for eating in the cafeteria, is it possible to inquire about having them stock special food items.. I know some schools will do that if you ask about it. If not do you have a mini fridge? a microwave that you can use?

Well yesterday I started on my "improved" diet and workout plan. I had a cheat day on sunday (pizza and ice cream) because after wandering this forum I'm so excited to get into shape. I will be doing weights 4x week- Tues is upper body, Thurs is lower body, Fri is upper body and sunday is lower body. The reason for the random days is I have weight training class on tues and thurs and my boyfriend trains me when I'm home on the weekends. As for cardio, I am cutting down to 5x week, only 30 or 40 mins max (I still want to lose quite a bit of fat).
My diet is (for the most part):

Meal 1-eggs and cereal
Meal 2-(preworkout) Salad and Chicken breast
Meal 3-(post workout) Turkey or tuna Sandwich on wheat
Meal 4-Chicken breast and brown rice
Meal 5-Turkey sandwich using only 1 piece of bread.

Someone mentioned earlier maybe cut down the carbs, I would love to do this except the cafeteria is just so limited. Also, they wont stock up on foods requested by students.

I am not taking any supplements as I have only just recently started getting into dieting correctly and working out, so if I can get a list (with your suggestions) I will pick up what I need at GNC next time I'm home. I was thinking if I do well with this plan in a few months I can start thinking about winstrol or something similar. What do you think?

Whoa.

Back up on the Winstrol. How long have you been training?

I also think your lifting is broken up a little off. Maybe try:

Day 1: back/bis
Day 2: chest/tris
Day 3: shoulders/abs
Day 4: legs

I also don't see that you're getting enough to eat. Do you have a microwave or hotplate at your dorm you could use? Even just a mini-fridge would do the trick.

I have been lifting for a little more than a year now. Pretty seriously (at least 4 times a week) for the past 6 months. I cut back a little, now I'm back on track. The reason my lifting is sectioned like that is because when I see my boyfriend on the weekend, I like him to train my whole body and the weekend is the only time I see him (I go to college 2 hours away)-the reason I like him training me, is he was my personal trainer before we started dating and he does a great job.

As for the veggies, my cafeteria is so limited-there is a salad bar, and usually some little veggies like pea's and carrots (which I eat when they are served). I do have a fridge and a microwave.

I am not positive if I already mentioned this, but in the last 4 or 5 months I have lost about 20 lbs. of fat and I feel like my body is now stuck at 130 lbs. no matter how much cardio and lifting I do. This is why I mentioned the winstrol.

You hit it on the nail. I would like to lose some more fat and gain some muscle mass. I know I lift much less than most of the women on this site, however compared to most girls in my gym at home and here at school, I am lifting a lot more than them. I would just like it to show on my body :)

ducky's dead right - NO winstrol babe! Winstrol (winny) is for building muscle, not dropping fat. besides, that's not an ideal starter Anabolic Androgenic Steroids (AAS) and you haven't built a base yet.

once you get the diet and training in check you'll see changes! promise!

and never gauge your success by comparing yourself to others because we're all at different levels in our progress and lifting. it's never about how much you lift (though it's great fun to make progress!).
