I got Testosterone score which around 170's, very low for my age and I am around 37 yrs old. My urologist suggested to use TESTIM 50 mg- rub one tube daily, after using it for a week I felt much weaker than before and crashed down. I am not sure what should my approach now? do you guys suggest if I need to consult Endocrinologist as well? since its hard to reach my Urologist over the phone, its only the nurse with whom I can interact- not much help, any assistance in this regard, is this only me who feels weak after taking this gel for a week or may be should I give it a shot for longer time.

Thanks cyto33, that was quick!
My only concern with Testim - its making me weak and I feel terrible after applying the gel, hence trying to analyze my next step. I am usually very healthy and never took any medication in my life time, hence little worried abt this Testim, but as you suggested i would approach an Endo as well.
By the way, do I need to look for very experienced Endocrinologist or the endo who has experienced in testosterone specialty? its pretty hard to find the searches I get most of them are very young...does it really matter

Can you share your thoughts on this as well,
Does Testim stop the natural production of Testosterone once we start using it? & can we stop using it later once we attain to proper levels?

it will stop your natty production. you dont want a new guy treating you get some feed back on them and make sure they have a good rep.
the name of a good guy was mentioned here just above.

Please call Chip -- big red box to your right.

Most people who have used the gel think it sucks ass. And, it's very expensive. It's a PITA to apply and you always have to worry about it transferring to your woman or sweating it off in the summer.

Most traditional docs will not write you a script for injectable testosterone cypionate. Some will, but most are very hesitant. An Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) clinic will work with you to get you whatever you need to get your test levels back to normal.

The beginning of a testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) program is a one-way trip for most of us. There is no "going back" because our bodies couldn't produce enough of it on our own -- hence low test scores. Once you start taking it the negative feedback loop shuts down whatever is left of your natural production once your blood levels of test reach a symbiotic level. The body simply recognizes enough test in the blood stream (or a surplus) and shuts down production.

The only people who are able to stop using test after a period of time on a testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) protocol are people who had outside factors that were causing their levels to be low in the first place. Mitigating factors, like illness, or obesity. If you're obese and it is a contributing factor to your low test then diet, exercise, and a short term testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) program followed by a PCT program running some hCG might allow you to return to normal, natural testosterone production levels and enable you to get off TRT. The odds are pretty slim, but some people are successful.

Thanks for all the props guys. Its important to me that i let you guys know how much i appreciate it. For everyone that currently works with me, i think it been a pretty good ride and it is nice that members that are new to testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), and nervous about it, can be made to feel comfortable enough to work with me because of the reccommendations that you guys give... Thanks again!

Low T

Hello – I’m doing some research on hypogonadism (also known as Low Testosterone or Low T) to better understand how the condition impacts men who have it and how they treat it. I would appreciate any and all responses to this very quick survey. Low Testosterone Survey
