Max PR's Deadlifts on a cycle

again lol, once again, and again, i may say it over and over, 1 day a week deadlifting max is not going to determine if u grow or not, again i lift in moderation as 3J stated, the pyramid theory, i also use dropsets too, to get the maximum burn and pump, it's just nice once a week to throw some crazy ass weight around, deadlifting rocks!

Fair enough dude...

Let's see if you have the same opinions in a few years time, when all that wear and tear begins to take it's toll...

You've already committed to a life of TRT, you may as well add a lifetime commitment to arthritis meds, joint support and back pain relief to go with it...

You're speaking to guys who have lived this life for the last 30 years - who thought exactly how you do right now, and are fucking regretting it too!

Competitive powerlifters and strongmen don't go for 1RM on a weekly basis - and 1RM are their bread and butter in competitions!

Please tell me why someone who cycles with muscle gain as his priority and trains for hypertrophy is even contemplating trying to lift a personal best - at the risk of chucking everything he is aiming for away in the click of a finger?

And you're right 'deadlifting does rock' - but I'd respect the guy who can deadlift a respectable weight for 5 sets of 10 over a relative newbie who is screaming and hollering over 1 rep!

Ludicrous if you ask me - but it's only my 02 cents :)

I don't know why this is the new thing to say. Do you thik pros got big by not lifting heavy weight? Sure you can get size from training hyper. Telling me you've never squatted or benched over 315 for reps? Had a good set said fuck it throw on 365? Tired of hearing you dont need to lift heavy to get big.

The people who say this are the ones who've fucked up and hurt themselves from lifting too heavy. I'm bigger now doing high rep sets at 315 compared to when I was maxing out at 495 and 500. Literally no one cares that I only put 3 plates on each side compared to 5.

Going for a one rep max every week led to one of the darkest years of my life. I went from getting laid with different girls every weekend to spending months at home alone in bed. I had to wear velcro shoes because I couldn't tie my shoes anymore. My hand was paralyzed for months after the second surgery. I had to learn how to do my job with one hand for a year. It was a year before I could fuck in the missionary position again. All because I felt like showing off in the gym.

580 @ 240lbs
On test and tren ace
Also had a 420 raw bench at the same powerlifting meet

raw bench is not wearing one of those tight bench suits . apparently they make the lift easier

they do make the lift easier, it also help keeping eveything thight during the lift wich is good to avoid injury... not my thing tho, I prefer raw lifting..
6 plates each side is very strong... don't wanna flame you matt but I'd definatly like to see a vid

I have a video of me doing 5 plates at 210:)... Strained my guts out(not literally) I'll post it if anyone wants to see it.... Ok I know it's not as impressive as 6, BUT I'll show it:)

Actually just watched it, it's 505 at 210lbs. Four 45's and two 25's... Not blasting, just TRT
