Maximus HRT policy

Hey guys & gals,

I was just on the Maximus website earlier today looking through the online survey for prospective patients, and I noticed in the last part of the form, under "certification and completion" it said that Maximus only treats patients 30+ years old.

I was just wondering why this is..

P.s. It's ironic that I saw this just after seeing a urologist today who completely refuses to even consider starting me on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), simply because I am "too young." According to him, even 30 years old is too young. I don't understand why people should have to live with low T for 10 or 20 years before being treated. How are you supposed to live a normal / happy life like that??

Your best bet is to just fill out the form and send it in to Chip. Let him and the doctor review it and see what they say. You could have extenuating circumstances that make you a candidate for Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) regardless of your age, but you won't really know until you get the forms filled out and sent in. Chip is a great guy and will tell you exactly what the situation is and whether or not he can help you. Good luck to you and let us know how it turns out.

#########Why does someone asking a legitamate question turn them into an asshole ????? #######

Lol, jesus..

I'm not a troll and I have no agenda / nothing against this forum. Maybe my username wasn't the most well thought out, and I can see why you guys might be suspicious of me.

So thank you, MoparMuscle and mlc31.

I am 22 years old, just went for blood work yesterday. The urologist (who was a dick) sent me for the following to be checked: free and total T, LH, FSH, and prolactin. He didn't think estradiol should be checked, which to me is proof of his incompetence or apathy.. So I added it to the list myself.

I have an appointment with my regular physician on Friday to get my results and a referral to an endo.

And Chip, I'm sorry for coming off as a dick. Before this forum I had a very bad outlook on my future, the thought of being on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) for the rest of my life didn't sit well with me. But it is obvious that all of your clients couldn't be happier thanks to your work. This helped me realize testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) is something to be looked forward to so I can get on with and enjoy my life.

If I didn't live in Canada, all those forms would have already been filled out and sent to Chip by now.

Also, I have gone for blood work twice before (last summer).

My total testosterone was pretty much on the borderline of the low end of the "healthy" range both times.

My free Twas 18 PMOL/L on the first test and 26 PMOL/L on the second test, on a range of 15.6 - 146 PMOL/L

These convert to 0.52 nl/dl and 0.75 ng/dl if my calculations are correct..

Thanks again for any help.

Then the biggest problem of all is that you are in canada and i can not offer any type of assistance to you in any way at all. My advice would be to try and find, in canada, some type of sports m.d. Or even go one step further and seek out a sports psychiatrist. They have many ways to positively and constructively manipulate the system in yor favor from a pyhsical and mental health aspect.

thanks.

It sucks that i can't work on this with you, but at least i have the forum as a source of information and guidance

i truly wish that i had the ability/choice to work with everyone that i could but there are certain quide lines that i have to abide by and adhere to. I wish you the best. I'm telling you...... Find a psychiatrist that specializes in athletes. It might be your best bet.
