Muscle spasms during injection?

ive done countless glute injections in the outer quadrant but my last two pins have been rough. once i start pushing the oil in it stings moreso than normal, plus my glute will have small spasms (twitching) during the injection. and after the injection my glute will twitch for about 10 mins. anyone know why? ive done glutes so many times and havent had this problem. my last pin i got lightheaded and dizzy after injection so i figured i hit a nerve/vein, even though i aspirated and no blood. but today i feel fine expcet for the glute spasms,twitching post injection. not to mention the pip seems immediate following the injection.

You feel something like a minor electric shock when the spasm happens? That's what I associate with nicking a nerve or being really close to one. I've never had that happen with glutes, but I don't pin them very often either. Another possibility is that you're anticipating the pin, causing you to instinctively "flex" - I've had this happen when doing quads when I'm in a hurry.
