My B**ch ENDO Dropped Me!!!!

So the title says it all...

Here me out!!!!

I've been seeing this endo for about 4months now battling some gyno...
We would do blood work every 4 weeks and she prescribed Tamoxifen 20-40mg/day
After taking it for some time I realized my E was elevating and I wanted an Aromatase inhibitor (AI), she refused.
I also read and received numerous advice PMs to try Raloxifene as it was far superior, so I paid out of pocket for that medication elsewhere...

So I started self medicating to bring my e2 level within normal range, while still seeing her and without telling her I was using the Raloxifene instead of the Tamoxifen, all good, she just thought my e2 came down while everything else was nearly 3x the normal amount.

I requested some additional bloodwork because she put me on Armour Thyroid, due to "sub clinical hypothyroidism"
such as;

- DHT (I've been losing my hair and its been thinning out, especially my eyebrows) [[anybody else get these sides?]]
- Total T4
- Free T4
- Total T3
- Free T3

The next thing I know I get a phone call with her saying she can no longer be my doctor that our "relationship" isn't working out! B**ch, I'm not F**king you... I'm paying for your Lexus with my insurance mother F**ker! I found out that she didn't like that I was requesting these blood tests and felt intimidated by my knowledge on the subject. I'm the type of person who hounds the internet for information and read studies on the endocrine system.

Needless to say I was pissed and now have to start all over with finding a new endo that:
A) Is willing to run labs every 4 weeks
B) Prescribe Armour Thyroid
C) has working knowledge with fighting Gynecomastia
and
D) Is open to the possibility of TRT

What do u guys think...honestly?

I'm sorry brother, but the bold has had me dying for the last 5 minutes. That's EXACTLY what I probably would have said LOLOL. That really sucks man, but I really do think you're right in that she felt intimidated by your knowledge on the subjects and was worried about it. So instead of actually learning more (her job), she severed her ties with you. Typical.

Best of luck to you man, I know a good doc isn't easy to find that's covered by insurance. ESPECIALLY ones that are willing to work with you and are competent. I know if I had the money, I'd be hitting up IMT or a wellness clinic nearby for the good stuff - that's for sure. ;)

LoL, thanks Halfwit...
My girlfriend had to stop me from calling her back and telling her that over the phone. I was sooo tempted...
I feel like with what I'm going through, I need to see someone in person... As much as I love IMT, I need a little more care due to the circumstances... I'll try and look into the wellness clinics but I'm very unfamiliar with them...

Is there some type of directory of some sort?

Also, have you experienced hair thinning or hair loss? My t levels are normally 600 but have been 1000-1300 for the past few months due to the raloxifene... could it be just converting to dht?

That sucks. Lots of doctors (whether they show it or not) are offended when studies are cited and suggestions are made by patients.

Yeah Austinite, I thought that was pretty cold...
Curious, can u read my thread on the other forum we also communicate on (I don't want to bring up the name of that site's sponsor here), I had a question in the bottom that related to your Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) specialist position and that site's sponsor...

I don't know of any better way than through the phone book or sites like healthgrades to be honest in finding a wellness clinic. Sorry man, I am one of the lucky ones in that I am not sensitive to DHT or have a predisposition to MPB. :(

no shit

sorry I'm a little pissed and don't want any smart comments...
you're more than welcome to apply them in another thread on this forum....

If you'd like some recommendations just PM me

what? i didn't know what concerge doc or whatever was, all I did was highlight the phrase, right click and click on "search google" and boom I knew in a matter of seconds. with all your background in researching i'm surprised you didn't realize that in the time it took you to make that post you could have known what it was you were asking about. if you need to find a mens clinic or an anti aging clinic all you have to do is google for [city name + anti aging clinic] or [city name + mens clinic] or whatever, it's not rocket science.

i mean seriously you come here whining and this and that and in the mean time you could have just got down to finding somebody else instead you're wasting time here moping and being "pissed". last week my urologist told me some shit that i didn't want to hear, wouldn't prescribe me what i wanted and said she'd rather send me to therapy. i didn't come on here and start whining, what did i do? i got home and i started googling right away, and within hours i found the solution i was looking for. it's not that hard, in a matter of hours from being a little down and depressed about my urologist, i said to myself i would never see her again and i ended up finding a very satisfactory solution same day. you had a very good tip from Dead Pirate and you're still here when you should have started researching right away, instead you have to make another post asking what's this and what's that.. get a hold of yourself and your life and take some action.

Woah. Guys, seriously. This isn't necessary. Let's stay on topic.

The voice of reason :).

My Pitch that is bad news but start making more calls in to doctors in your area and ask the questions that concern you and pertain to you, specifically about the blood tests, thyroid armour, raloxifene/tamoxifen for the gyno, etc.

Just in regards to the blood work, you can get all of that through private labs.
Instead of going full tilt insurance or full tilt pay on your own, why not supplement?
Make an arrangement with a doc to do bloods every 8 weeks then run your own tests through private labs at 4 weeks sort of thing. That way you can test for anything you can afford.

Like you, I had a couple refuse to do bloods also.
Good luck brother, finding a competent endo is hard.
